LOL. The Rockets have an unathletic and noticeably undersized rotation which includes Chuck Hayes, Luther Head, Bobby Jackson and occassionally Steve Novak. How could you not like Greene and Dorsey (and next years' 2nd rounder from MEM)?

To seal the deal, I'm hoping they don't use too much of the MLE on Dorsey and then target athletes such as Azubuike, Pietrus, Posey (unlikely) or Ricky Davis in Free Agency.

I don't understand why dorsey wasn't rated higher. I don't watch much college bball anymore but I watched the tournament. that dude was an x-factor, he reminded me of chris wilcox, and he looks like him, but he has more drive.

probably just his complete lack of offense and horrible FT shooting. clearly he is an offensively limited player but the dude's defense is off the charts.

Rocket fans are going to love Dorsey as a situational backup center this upcoming season, they finally have some athletism at that position. He has a huge wingspan and almost a 9'0 standing reach. I actually see him getting more clock than Deke during the regular season. The guy possesses some incredible defensive instincts ie. shotblocking, steals and ability to take a charge. I love this pick.

I don't know anything about Donte Green except that he's 6'9 and athletic and jacks it up. But doesn't it seem like he has short arms?

if only we can combine novak and dorsey. Great shooting at good height with great defense and athleticism.

How did dorsey did at the measurements? for someone that jump lights out and arms as huge as legs, i do not remember anyone saying anything about him.

From the video, he (Dorsey) looked very good .. but then it is important to see the entire game to know more. Remember Stromile ... he is very ahtletic, strong at dunks and impressive too but he looked lost in game plan. I hope Dorsey is not like Stromile.

The Rockets picked exactly as I said, their weakest position.
A back up Center to eventually replace an aging and somewhat irreplaceable Mutumbo that can save Yao from wear and tear, and hopefully another injury prone season.

yep, it will be like having Hayes with more atheleticism. Which makes me wonder what they plan to do with Hayes. Somewhere Hayesfan is pulling out her hair, worrying about his future.

Ummmm, he is. He's dumber than a box of rocks. The difference though is in Adelman's system, he won't be asked to do anything besides hang around the basket, set picks, and move to the open space around the rim. He won't be asked to memorize a thousand sets like under Van Gundy. It's just come down and find his space in the post, set a screen to help the perimeter guys and get his big a... back in the post. He has no range, no jumper, doesn't have any offensive post moves with the basketball, which may actually be to his advantage in an Adelman system. What will be a disadvantage to him in Adelman's system is he can't pass. Dorsey is a finisher offensively and a big strong post defender defensively. And that's all he'll ever be. You don't throw him the ball expecting him to throw a great pass out to the perimeter shooter. You don't post him up and expect him to throw a great post move on the defense and lay it in. You don't throw him the ball and ask him to dribble it except a straight line dribble to the rim for the dunk.

A person can still be dumb and play basketball well. Stro lacked the enthusiasm/effort/tenacity that dorsey seems to have.

Plus, Adelman's system does require quick thinking.

Yes. I hope Dorsey maintains his intensity from Memphis. Because if he doesn't, it's Stro part 2.

Adelman's system requires vision more than thinking. You've got to be able to see the floor and see where the space is. It may require more thinking from your primary ballers like 111 and Rafer, but for a garbage man like Dorsey.

I really like Green as a project and scorer off the bench. His range is good, handles ok, atheletic and good size. Dorsey is d-league guy. I like his atheleticism and arm reach, but he's 6'7. People think he's a backup center, but didn't we learn from the playoffs about small frontline players?

dont get your scissors out just yet. morey has already been talking about signing veterans and having some trades in mind. i'm sure he'll do his best to find landing spots for enough guys that we dont have to make too many cuts.

i've heard mike harris is one of the best athletes on the current roster. (dont know how that looks with dorsey and green in the fold) i dont know that the rockets would be so quick to cut him.
