FIRE C. Dawson who executed our offseason trades and signings he is not working for the benifit of giving us a decent team, only trying to put on a show and making mucho dollars for Les.FIRE his scouting team- Who ever scouted Swift -to play POWER FORWARD and Alston to play the Playmaker Point Guard must me blind, deaf and dumb and have a low basketball IQ.

Les Alexander should decide to make a big effort to get us a younger athletic team. If he isnt interested in spending the extra money to do so then he should sell the team to owners that will make the effort. This means a major policy change. Surrounding Yao & Tracy with has been scrubs of yesteryear isn't going to make it.

    You can't fire the owner.

But to waste 3 1st round picks on EG and got nothing to show for it is too much to swallow.

Yetti, jeez... what a post. If you want to blame Swift on CD, fine. T-Mac lobbied for him and everyone here would have freaked out if we didn't land a coveted 4 last year, and we got one for the MLE. JVG told the team no more knuckleheads and BAM! Knucklehead. That really happened in an organizational vacuum, didn't it?

Regarding Alston I just completely disagree.

I think both CD and JVG want out, but JVG's situation is a lot trickier both financially and reputationally. I'm betting on one or the other citing health concerns.

QUESTION: What is the GM's job?

Is it evaluating the team . . finding the talent to put on it to make it better
    or
is it letting the coach tell you what he wants. . .going to get it. . and finding away to make it work under the salary cap?

CD wasted Les' money, Yao's neil, fans' love, JVG's hair and my time.

    Grade: F-

As GM he is in the middle of accommodating Van Gundy's preference of players as well as Leslie Alexander's lack of spending. A reason we will always be behind Dallas depth wise is because we don't have the money dallas does. And regardless of Cuban deciding to cut down on costs or not--if he really wanted to get someone--he could get them and pay them.

He has brought in Clyde,Barkley,Pippen, Francis and T-Mac yet passed on Rashard Lewis and ended up trading what was richard jefferson. It seems his weakness is discovering talent that doesn't fall into his lap.But it is not entirely his doing. Les needs to bring in better scouts and spend a bit more to get the players we need--it is getting more and more difficult to get reliable role players when they are making rediculous amounts of money (dalembert, chandler).

I think CD needs to go with his gut sometimes and get Gundy to make it work, i'd be open to a new GM only because this team needs younger, fresher eyes for talent. We have the two best players at their position in the league--we need to surround them with reliable talent.

    A C for me.

As has been said many times, with 3 first round picks playing that year, Yao is most likely never here. Also, I don't see the team taking on 3 guaranteed contracts like that anyway.

The trade for Griffin was a good trade, and should be made over and over. Great players win championships, not mid-first round picks.

No, but he had the balls to make the pick, which was not a no brainer at the time. A lot of pundits said J.Will should have been picked first.

    My assesment is

    CD is too slow.

He isnt very Creative. Never tried 3 or 4 team deals

Always seems to not get anything done until the scraps are left

Has a horrible team "doing their homework"

    Botched this year up badly

Cant even get the star player a backup even after 2 years

    This year I give him a D
