Asomugha was thrown at only 33 times during the entire season, allowing only 13 completions and zero touchdowns. That is ridiculous.

Washington is a *much* higher profile franchise than the Texans, The Cat. The Texans are football purgatory right now.

But Houston offers much better cost of living, no income tax, warm weather, hot females.

The Texans might not be a franchise that people drool over, but they can still offer a lot more than most cities/locations.

If the money is there, the Texans will be in the running.

    Absolutely true and deservedly so.

Thanks to Captain Clueless (Bob McNair) and our head coach that should have been fired after LAST season.

I don't see him chosing the Texans over even returning to Oakland.

what does cost of living mean to guy making 15mil. I would definitely pick the bay area over Houston if I made crazy money.

The texans need to break out the wallet and offer him stupid money.

Yeah, Texans should be offering more than those teams.

We have to wait and see what the new CBA will allow. If it will still be no cap then the Texans should be all over this.

Those other teams you have mentioned are doing pretty well. They aren't going to throw out money when they already have top players they have to pay and are superbowl contenders any ways. They will sell to Aso 'You'll have to take a pay-cut here, but we'll be winning games.' that won't work. Not for a FA, and I get what your saying but Aso voiding the contract knowing he'd be getting a huge payday any way. In the end these are men with families and they will almost always follow the money. It is my hope teams like the Steelers, Ravens, Pats (who are cheap as hell) are not going to match the offer the Texans (should) put on the table.

The Texans will have to sell a huge pay day AND the thought that Aso COULD be the one who turns the franchise around. Really I think he could.

Quinn is at best average. Kareem could use a guy like Aso to learn from. It would fill a HUGE need and at the same time allow you to cross out CBs for the year. Focus on NTs, FS, and LBs.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that, if you're correlating high-profile with winning. If you think the Texans right now are considered further from winning than Washington, say, when Haynesworth was signed - I think that's borderline insane. You need some perspective outside of Houston to see just how much of a joke the Redskins franchise is. But to each his own.

Asomugha at CB and Bailey at S
Sign Lechler if he becomes available
Draft best DT available with #11

C'mon Bob open up the wallet and prove you're committed to winning.

I have some hope here, the Texans went after the best CB available last year, Bodden and that was before they knew how bad the secondary would be. Now that it has proven historically bad and there are several strong options for FA there should be no excuse.

You sure about that?....Players are trying to get out of Washington, not go there.

You guys think Bob McNair will suddenly go on a spending spree?

Look at your offseason history and tell me how likely that is to happen.

Money talks however it's unlikely that McNair shells out what is necessary to get this done.

This move makes us instant contenders.

Oh I agree, there's almost no way it happens for that very reason. I'm just laughing at the idea that the Texans couldn't get it done, if they wanted to. It's largely within their control. McNair just won't do it.

Yeah at the same time the recent FA classes have not been that special. A lot of teams just tag their big name players.

Plus if McNair is going to spend this is the year he would.

Cost of living may not be a big factor on its own, but throw in income tax and you are talking about a nice chunk of money...at least 3 million dollars annually. And sure, its easy for you to sit back and say, "oh he makes millions, it doesnt matter to him"...but youre failing to realize the power of money, once you make money.

Serious question, what marquee guys have come up in the past 2-3 years that we *really* needed?

This is true. There are some big names available..specifically in the secondary.

We'll know what McNair's true intention is with this franchise soon enough.

Also, some guys that have popped up like Haynesworth have been problem players. Players that McNair avoids like the plague.

    Nnamdi isn't one of those.
