What percentage of the time spent talking with free agents or their agents is about money and how much of it is about personnel? I would think that all players are different, but is there a trend to those numbers from what you can see?

In other words, do big money players usually talk about teammates and roster moves and coaches and lesser money players just want the contract to sign? And once the contract discussion takes place, how long do those discussions go on?

i used to post insider information on this site from time to time, back in the tmac/yao era.

i can tell you that the hardest thing about having good information that you want to share is the audience. e.g. you guys.

the audience demands to know where you got it from. then when you dont tell them they turn hateful and unappreciative. then they ask you to make other predictions (that you don't have information about) to prove the validity of the first one. as if part of getting info from time to time is having a magical phone to call daryl on and ask him about his super secret plans because we want to share them on the internet, and he'll say yes.

the truth is that everyone gets information differently. depending what your source(s) are, it could be ops related, it could be s&c related, it could be player personnel related. there's information that comes from all facets of what a basketball org does from rehab to endorsements to coaching to finances.

all i wanted to contribute here is that if cyberx is happily giving you guys news, then appreciate it. so he doesnt get jaded and leave and sever those connections like i did.
