That is a very risky play out of no choice. But Asik is so lucky today and he is on fire.

YAOmer Asik is in town, folks!

Now seriously, I remember early in the season he was airballing 12-footers. LOL.

He probably has a green light to shoot them when he wants, but his comfort level is not there yet.

No, I doubt he has the green light to shoot long jumpers, or at least I don't think he should. The only reason he took that shot was because the shot clock was 1-2 seconds remaining. And even then I can see Lin clearly expected to get the ball back. And speaking of which, I think that was a bad decision by Lin to pass it to Asik in that situation...

If I just knew of Asik's stats, I would consider thinking about DHoward.

Now I don't even know who Howard is.

I thought so at first. When i was watching the game live I was like god dammit Lin is that the best shot you could find & then when Asik made that shot I was like Oh nvm then. But even if you watch the replay ORL defend that shot really well. They purposefully left Asik wide open like that. Situations like that where Omer has to take those shots have only happened about 3 times this season. I think it was more good magic defense than bad houston offense.

That's true, Orlando would let Omer shoot jumpers all day, even if he made 3 in a row. In that situation, Lin should've taken the shot with 2 sec. on the clock. A veteran like Steve Nash or Chris Paul, would dribble hard right, stop, pump fake, then when his defender is flying at him... just lean forward with a jumpshot, they would get FT's everytime.
However, because it's Jeremy Lin, the refs might not call that foul.

His release looks fine. His problem at the freethrow line is that he hesitates at the top. It needs to be all in one motion, not broken into pieces, if you want to be consistent at the line.

Why not trade Harden instead, more capsize, less ISO and better team work

    :p
The team won games in landslides.

That's an open shot and he swished it. How bad it it?
That's how the twin tower plays? That makes good basketball sense.
Nice Assist! Creative and entertaining at their best.

    I would.
In fact the starting lineup of
Parson, Smith, Asik, Lin, Anderson makes economic sense.
    They cost less than Harden.
    Trade Harden for Howard!

Parson + Asik + Lin + Smith + Anderson cost less than Harden or Howard.
How is it for an economic major?

I had a legit double take while watching that live. "No way, was that Asik?!". Form alone had me doubting it was really him. We've all seen some of the stuff he's thrown up there over the season. Love it. I gain more and more respect for him every time he plays. Well, aside from that Indy game... :)
