I don't think its too far off for Asik to develop a 15-18 footer this summer, with that kind of release. Especially if they're pick and pop, Asik seems to do well when there's no pressure. Will open up the floor for D-Mo/Smith/T-Rob to do some work in the paint.
I really like Asik, I do, one of my favorite players on the team. But Asik at his best is just not comparable to Dwight at his best. Dwight at his best dominates Asik in every category and in-game as well. It's weird to see how quickly people forget how dominant Dwight can be.
The Rockets at the behest of Morey have been hiding Asik's beastly Larry Bird-like jumpshot all season to use as the X-Factor in the playoffs to catch teams off guard.
Asik needs more touches. He scored 22 points on 11/13 shooting (including zero free throws). He also grabbed 18 rebounds, 5 of them offensive boards.
Thing is along with his dominance comes his diva-like backstabbing attitude and media circus, not to mention he seems like he can't stay healthy anymore and is constantly missing games for shoulder/back and other physical ailments. Not worth the upgrade from Asik all things considered, including price tag.
lol...i love how he back pedals back down the court before the shot goes in because he knows it's good hahaha
That's a step away from a 3pter. Move aside, stretch 4, the stretch 5 is here! 5 out, 0 in. The new NBA.
1Asik is not at his best yet... Can you really predict his ceiling? But we won't get Dwight at his best. Asik

Tim Duncan used to have no midrange shot and was a terrible FT shooter. Asik is about where Duncan was in his 2nd year. Both worked hard to extend the range on their shots.
Omer is a better shooter than Robinson. He should work on the 3 point shot in the summer to make it a weapon.
I still remember one of 610's Saturday crews during the offseason when they were in Bash Rockets mode laughing at the idea of Asik being even any good, much less a starter.
Think of Howard's "greatness" in the past tense. When he was healthy, when he wasn't in "diva" mode, when he wasn't in whiney mode, when he cared. I think Howard is in decline. I don't want him anymore.
