I think the policy is that the embellished response does not count as a flop if a foul was actually committed. In this case, TD did reach in on Mayo, so a foul did occur.

But the principle at work here is questionable because Mayo invented contact for an area unrelated to the foul. Mayo made it seem like TD raped his face.
At that moment, I had a flashback of Bosh clutching his eye or that lizard thing that he calls his face.

Oh man, Asik's flops are hilarious.

He'd do very well as a guy that gets riddled with bullets in a cheesy 1970s cop movie.

This video does a great job at showing Asiks improvement in FT technique. He has little to no wrist action in this video. Almost like a push or slap. Testament to the coaching staff teaching him to follow through correctly. It maybe only 10% improvement at the line but its a good start.

Stars don't have to flop any more, David Stern sent them a memo letting them know that they will get their superstar calls increased.

The stars most likely to receive a flopping warning are Chris Paul, James Harden, and Dwyane Wade.

Until big time players get called on their antics, I will never agree to any of these warnings and fines on any Rocket or other good player. Stern is very sneaky and he proved it again. Acting like he wanted to address the problem for years, only to use it as a weapon to make the star players more untouchable. This is embarrassing for the league..

I actually have no problem with that play from Asik there. It's one thing to flop and try to create a foul out of nothing. It's another thing to make sure a real foul is actually seen. Duncan stuck his elbow out to keep him from getting to a loose ball; it was a foul. Why not warn guys for committing a sneaky foul that goes uncalled, like tugging on a jersey or sticking your elbow out. In my mind it is no different than flopping; it's gamesmanship outside the rules of the game.

Given an NBA flop warning, Asik said he fell for a reason and it was not to fool officials

I don't think he flop there against the Pistons. He basically lost his footing and just fell backwards.

I hope that Pistons footage is not what he got warned about.
That is in no way a flop.
Dude was backing up and got out of the way.
A flop, in my opinion, needs to be reserved for that flailing arms and jerking back your head stuff that Ginobili is known for.

The warning was for a very blatant flop in the Spurs game. There was a play last night where he drew a foul, but I could see him getting fined for it.
