I know in Beijing the govt. started artificially making the sky blue for certain occasions (important people being in the city, etc.)...maybe HK too?
I feel for you man. I had a situation like tha a few years ago when a couple of my wife's friends flew over from Europe to visit and we were driving them arond the city. At one point, my stomach suddenly strated doing summersaults. I wound up driving for about 20 minutes looking for a place to do my thing. I was shaking, sweting, and punching the wheel cuz man I was hurting badly! I finally saw a animal hospital and ran in and let everythign loose in their conveniently located in the front with the door open restroom.

I think everyone who's travelled especially in the Thirld World has had an experience like that. I was backpacking in Indonesia 10 years ago and had some bad gado gado and half walked half sprinted about a kilometer back to the guesthouse I was staying it and then way over paid for some toilet paper before I let loose on the squat toilet.

I've posted a few pics of myself on Clutchfans BBS but I'm sure most of you would rather see pics of the scenery than moi.
If anyone plan for a trip to Hong Kong, the best time to come would be November to January. Yes you can see blue sky and magnificent landscape during that period of time. We did have some policies to counter the air pollution problem and practically we have ALL our cabs replaced for a couple of years already and they are ALL running on natural gas instead of diesel; a huge portion of minibuses are replaced too. Our Government are working closely with the Provincial Government in Zhu Jiang Delta to monitor and control the pollution caused by the factories and power plants in both areas. i don't know about third world, but i was in cancun a while back and had a bad bad stomache problem (it was food poisoning) and i was frantically looking for a bathroom.. i was near a beach and not close to any hotels, so i just ran up to a cop i saw and asked where a 'baño' was. he poceeded to lead me to a building and when i went in it was a freakin prison.. he took me into one of the empty cells and i couldn't hold it anymore so i crapped in the prison cell..there were even a couple prisoners in a cell across the hall, but i didn't care..
