Ashlee Simpson is a beautiful young woman with a massive amount of talent. Period. She is a musical force to be reckoned with and one of the Americas greatest ultra-anti-stars (UAS) ~ the fact that some are jealous of her anarchy lifestyle and cutting edge music is (quite simply) their own problem and needs not be shared with the world at every possible opportunity. ROCK ON ASHLEE - ROCK ON!!!!11111
I went back and watched the video and I was laughing my ass off like most other people. However, I can't say I am not surprised. Ever since the SNL fiasco, I knew that this Simpson girl was a no-talent hack. Ashlee Simpson has absolutely ZERO positives going for her when it comes to a pop music career. Jeff has explained several times in the past about how pop (popular) music is all about the way someone looks and not if they can really sing that good. And now with this Pro Tools program, you can definitely get by without being able to sing that good. However, where people like Britney (looks good and can dance), Christina Aguilera (can really sing and dance, looks good? Eh), and even Hillary Duff (not bad looking) and Lindsay Lohan (same thing - not bad looking) fit the bill to be pop stars, that is not the case with Simpson. She can't sing, she can't dance, and she definitely is not attractive. So, it becomes painfully obvious to people out there that are not 12 and younger that she has only gotten where she has because of her older sister. And needless to say, people resent that. Why should she, a no-talent hack, get things handed to her on a platter? It is not like she is selling records based on her looks or she is a good dancer (like Spears and Aguilera) or heaven forbid actually have a *decent* singing voice (without help from Pro Tools). And to those people older than 12, they realize that and that is unforgivable. I say by the end of this year, Ashlee Simpson disappears from the public eye. She might as well as I don't see how she can recover from something like this.
i can't believe how many of you find Jessica Simpson hot. I mean, sure she has a smokin body - but her face...damn, her face. She looks like a horse with that mouth of hers. oh, and that Pizza Hut commercial..."I never knew buffalo's had wings." damn...she just picks the stupidest roles. ... okay, well, now looking for pics to support my case on google. i have a new view. there are really two jessica simpsons. one is hot, one is not. she's a double sided chick, like the one off of seinfeld (you know, the one that jerry doesn't know if she is hot or not). yeh. this one is hot: this one on the other hand is...well, not.
oh, and btw...here no talent Ashlee looks better than horse-face Jessica: i don't care if she has no talent...i'd hit it. over...and over......and over again.

While I did find the halftime show a little humorous (for many reason including but not limited to Ashlee), I really don't get why there is so much more uproar over how much she sucked...and for that matter the hack job she gave on SNL. Pretty much every pop star uses backing tracks and lip synchs during live performances...so why everyone seemed to jump on her seems a little bit of a mystery. Everytime I see live performances, especially at the Super Bowl, its so freakin obvious that the performer isn't truly singing. And why would they, cause, like she demonstrated during the Orange Bowl, most would sound like complete s**t because well they're singing in an open stadium w/ 70-80k + people in attendance.... not exactly the best place in terms of acoustics. That said, I'd much prefer artists actually singing instead of synching during live acts, warts and all, cause it adds more credibilty and realism to the performace. If i wanted to hear how they sound on the album I'd buy the album. So, I don't quite get all the bashing on her when everyone else is just as bad. Now, with that outa the way, I'd just like to make it clear that I am in no way an Ashlee supporter. In fact I hate both of the Simpson sisters (as artists) because A) they have no depth as artists and B) they are just two more Britney-esque pop star clones, and the music industry has way too much of them. One final thing, her singing wasn't what bothered me during the performance. It was the fact that she seemed to go out of her way to make it clear she was singing live... taking out the earpiece...and then at the end of her song w/ the loooong pause wtf?!

JD, People dislike her so much because unlike Britney or Christina or even her sister who either have looks, dance moves, or singing voice, Ashlee has none of those 3. All she has going for her is her older sister and she has ridden her coattails so far. People have picked up on that and that is why she is getting trashed. That girl has NEVER had to work for anything or to get where she is now and that pisses people off.
Aaah, Big Boys! Just heard a local DC bands (Jawbox) cover of "Sound on Sound" the other day. Great band back in the day.
