The notion of tracking only deaths is troll talk stupid. Especially when the death number is 120k. Thats like celebrating in nba to lose by 30 instead of 50. We can get into asymptomatic long term effects, antibody only lasting a few months, and asymptomatic shedding it for longer ..but it is all in the links i gave you and I know you can put it together. You can do it
Not sure ..i don't think so.. I will get over it possibly. I post on phone.. if i actually got on a computer I might try to make better effort with comments instead of inferences from studies and links. Cheetah is smart dude I think he can
Right and I am complimenting your intelligence and ability to draw educated conclusions from said links with clean canadian sources. There isnt much to dislike about canada
I don’t think two reporters that work for the only daily newspaper in the fourth-largest city in America would dare jeopardize their relationships with their contacts in the Texas Medical Center unless they had really solid information. The Texas Medical Center is one of the most well-respected medical institutions in the United States, you don’t levy charges like this unless you have your ducks in a row first. Also, the story states that Abbott had a meeting with TMC hospital executives about negative publicity concerning ICU capacity. The next day, TMC executives issued a press release that said TMC still had plenty of ICU capacity and there was nothing to worry about. Coincidence? I think not.
Is it about elective procedures being more profitable due to margin, or due to those patients paying more. ie those are actually procedures that get paid for.
Elective procedures just make up the bulk of procedures and thus revenue. Non-elective procedures really are basically anything that if you don't get done means you die.
From @bigtexxx: “With the vast majority of the deaths having multiple comorbidities (and a huge percentage in nursing homes), one could argue that the coronavirus accelerated many deaths that would have occurred anyways. Further, I question whether the deaths could be overstated, since the number reported is those who died WITH covid, possibly not FROM covid.” You are doing an excellent job of reminding me of why I’ve had you on ignore for well over a year. It isn’t “just” that you are a delusional small minded little man. It isn’t because you parrot your hero, Mr trump, to the best of your severely limited ability by exhibiting your total lack of empathy time and again. It’s not even that you troll this forum, because you do such a poor job of it. @Trader_Jorge should give you lessons. No, it is because you are boring, and I say that with all of the respect you are due. Goodbye again.
Band of Brothers Writer Makes Anti-Trump Ad as Tribute to Greatest Generation’s Sacrifices “Over the years, I’ve become very passionate about veteran affairs,” Orloff continued, “and especially the World War II vets, many of whom I’ve known, interviewed, and become friends with over the years.” “I watched the Trump administration — and its enablers — argue that they were quite willing to sacrifice the health and lives of our senior citizens, I was — and still am — shocked that this was an actual, real rationalization they were making.” “And who are those senior citizens?” Orloff continued. “Well, a whole bunch of them saved the world. Literally. At great and terrible sacrifice.” “And how does our society reward them in their final days? It offers these same men and women a lonely, possibly early, death, away from their families and loved ones, and often even away from medical staff. Why? Because of the economy? Because of masks? It seemed to me that we needed to be reminded exactly who these ‘old people’ are that some of us are so quick to sacrifice.” “So I got pissed,” Orloff concluded, “and the fine folk at The Lincoln Project let me channel all of that into the ad we dropped today."
My neighbor’s sister works in a pre-ICU unit in Houston, and she said the overwhelming number of patients in their ICU are protestors in their 20s.
They explain how they brought the numbers down from 93% ICU capacity to 72% before reposting charts. They have different charts now. Claiming confusion, Texas Medical Center changes how it reports ICU capacity amid COVID-19 Mike Morris, Zach Despart | on June 29, 2020 https://www.houstonchronicle.com/ne...pitals-hit-100-base-ICU-capacity-15372256.php
The younger crowd has also spread the virus at large parties and bars, restaurants, and other mask free and indoor spreading hot spots. As for protesters getting it, well it's sad that people have to risk getting the virus to make their voice heard that they desperately want change. The majority of protesters were wearing masks, so if they could get the virus why would Texas Representatives force people to wait in line for hours to vote? Texas is one of only 4 states that doesn't qualify an absentee ballot for fear of getting Coronavirus. All 4 states not allowing this are Republican. Meanwhile the No Mask Required Republican Convention is coming to the Coronavirus hot spot of Texas at a time when our cases in Houston are at an all time high.
This pretty much confirms Texas Medical Center now uses different charts because Greg Abbott didn’t like the negative publicity concerning ICU capacity across the state. The charts would not have changed, nor would TMC executives have issued the press release stating there was enough remaining ICU capacity had Abbott not intervened.
There is a lot of debate as to whether herd mentality can realistically be reached with 330 million Americans. I suspect when the next pandemic hits (and it will with travel the way it is), we will have a more uniform way to combat it and we will have better knowledge. The problem in this country is that over 1/3 of the countries falls into one of the categories for being at greater risk and herd immunity cannot be achieved with 1/3 of the country not involved. In many ways it is a large math equation as to what is an acceptable number of deaths.
