77055 in da' house like LLCoog. 398 cases confirmed. Ranked No.9 It's pretty purple here. The way I like it.
And... why aren't people wearing masks? Perhaps, just perhaps, its because they have gotten mixed and often conflicting messages from government leaders and media members on wearing masks? They see the freaking president of the United States NOT wearing masks, surrounded by others, NOT wearing masks. They see the vice president... the guy assigned to lead the COVID-19 task force NOT wearing a mask. Gee, if only lil' marco knew of a body of government officials that could do something about mask wearing...
All White Male leadership don't look steady, stable, or competent right now. Whoever thought up that stereotype needs to come up w/ a new one. Just sayin.
Absolutely..... many people simply do not follow basic rules..... hell people smoke knowing it has a 25% chance of killing them.
What is upsetting, is establishing and continuing to use an all white male leadership structure is incredibly unproductive. Only half the population is male, and rich white men make up a small percentage of the male population. We hare picking our leaders from a very small group of people and many brilliant people that could further society for everyone are left out of the equation......... all because we as a country are used to a white male structure.
Of those three graphs shown, the last one is the most unbelievable to me. Forget COVID, why would only 30% of Republicans tell any sick person to just stay home, get better, and avoid spreading their illness? That's 70% lunacy.
I know the narrator personally. He is a friend of mine. He isn't stupid and cares a great deal about the inner city Chicago neighborhoods. He lives in the community (when he has the finances to leave), he mentors and raises lots of funds for poor people in the worst neighborhoods. He is well liked and respected in those neighborhoods because he is there and brutally honest but compassionate. As for his politics, I do not agree with him on some issues. However I respect his beliefs because he is deeply involved and doesn't have any covert agenda. People do not know how bad it is in inner city Chicago. I had an old office in a nice part of Chicago only three blocks away. I moved to Garfield Park because it was the closest neighborhood and was quiet....... at least until the sun went down (as I would learn). I quickly learned it was the worst neighborhood in Chicago. I saw a lot of poverty, ignorance and lack of opportunity. I also met a lot of very good and wise people that no one talked about. Still, the reality is it is hard to lock people down forever...... and this is coming from someone that did and still does support the actions of the Mayor and Governor of Illinois on this point and the CDC guidelines. Expect the same thing that happened in Chicago to happen in Houston and other cities seeing their infection rate rise.
