Good lord. Get some new material. What an idiotic line -- Cuomo did a horrific job! Abbott and Patrick did a slightly less horrific job!!! The folks here are smarter than your village idiot on the street with whom that kind of garbage works. Quit being a partisan idiot, they failed and are continuing to fail. I noticed you ran for the hills rather than address anything raised in prior posts.

Considering over one million healthcare workers have LOST their jobs during this crisis, I’m glad TCH is helping.

I'm waiting for states to start quarantining anyone entering from Texas. My guess is less than 2 weeks.

‘These numbers are not good’: San Antonio officials warn of worsening coronavirus outbreak as cases surge past 7,000
    San Antonio Express-News

San Antonio officials warned that the coronavirus is putting a strain on local hospitals, as hundreds of new infections pushed Bexar County’s total past 7,000 since the start of the pandemic. Mayor Nirenberg said all indicators measuring the severity of the local COVID-19 outbreak are trending in the wrong direction, as he reported 274 more positive cases Monday. In the past week, the number of people hospitalized has more than doubled.

Texas governor says coronavirus spread 'unacceptable' but imposes no new requirements
    The Hill

The governor said rates of coronavirus-related hospitalizations in Texas averaged more than 3,200 per day over the last “four or five days,” an increase from the second half of May, when around 1,600 people in Texas were hospitalized per day with COVID-19. Despite these statistics, Abbott said Texas would remain “open for business,” stressing the need for Texans to wear masks, wash their hands and maintain social distancing.

Governor Urges Masks but No New Steps as Cases Rise in Texas
    Associated Press

Texas’ surging coronavirus numbers will not slow the state’s reopening as Gov. Abbott on Monday instead prescribed an emphasis on face coverings and social distancing to curtail sobering trends, including hospitalization rates that have doubled since Memorial Day. Abbott did not announce any new measures to reverse what he called “unacceptable” trends as Texas reached an 11th consecutive day of record COVID-19 hospitalizations.

Texas governor warns tougher actions will be required if coronavirus cases, hospitalizations continue spiking
    CNBC

Abbott has previously defended the state’s reopening plan by saying the state’s hospitals remain at the lowest threat level and have the ability to add surge capacity if necessary. The state has since reported days of record hospitalizations and daily increases in Covid-19 cases. As of Sunday, there are 2,913 people hospitalized in Texas with Covid-19 based on a seven-day moving average, a 37% increase compared with a week ago.

Local leaders echo Governor Abbott’s guidance for slowing the spread of COVID
    KLTV-TV Tyler

More than 3500 new cases are being reported each day. At a press conference this afternoon, Gov. Abbott said if the spike continues, further action will be necessary. He warned Texans to follow the prevention measures put in place by the CDC. East Texas city leaders echo the request, reminding everyone that while not wearing a mask isn't a criminal offense, it's just a good idea.

With shutdown success evaporated, model suggests mid-July peak for COVID-19 in Houston
    Houston Chronicle

A surge in COVID-19 cases since Memorial Day could set the Houston area on track for a peak of 2,000 daily hospitalizations by mid-July, according to a model from a Baylor College of Medicine epidemiologist. The region’s intensive care units would be overwhelmed by that number of patients, a nearly 50 percent increase from current levels, though thousands of general hospital beds remain available.

Study predicts massive North Texas coronavirus surge throughout summer and into fall
    Fort Worth Star-Telegram

A new study from UT Southwestern Medical Center predicts a surge in coronavirus cases throughout the summer and into the fall. According to the data, current social distancing and prevention measures are 63% effective in slowing the spread of the coronavirus. If that remains, the study predicts 500 new daily cases in August and more than 900 cases a day by November. The report predicts a 20% increase in hospitalizations over the next two weeks.

Texas Children's Hospital admitting adult patients to free up hospital beds in Houston
    KHOU - Houston

Texas Children’s Hospital confirmed late Monday it is admitting adult patients to free up hospital beds across Houston as coronavirus cases surge. The hospital said it is providing additional capacity through ICU and acute care beds across its campuses to both pediatric and adult patients. Adult patients who have COVID-19 will be cared for in an expanded Special Isolation Unit at Texas Children's Hospital West Campus.

State lifts COVID-19 safety precautions for child care centers
    KXAN-TV - Austin

Texas HHS has repealed emergency rules for child care centers that were put in place after coronavirus started spreading across the state. Up until June 12, child care centers were required to comply with a list of precautions included screening staff, requiring parents to drop off and pick up outside only, and not serving family-style meals. The notice now leaves it up to each provider to decide what precautions they want to continue.

Editorial: Social distancing remains vital to our battle against COVID-19
    Dallas Morning News

Many of us are guilty of relaxing and wishfully thinking that the coronavirus pandemic is nearing the end. However, this virus is still dangerous, and the risks of unfettered spread remain. We’ve paid a heavy price for containing this virus; it would be a tragedy to let it run wild now.

Nursing Homes Receive ‘Unusable’ Gowns, Gloves And Masks From FEMA
    KTVT-TV Dallas/Fort Worth

From plastic gowns that look like trash bags to gloves too small for most adult hands, nursing homes trying to protect their residents say some of the personal protective equipment sent by the Federal Emergency Management Agency has been “unusable.” According to records provided by FEMA, more than 1,100 nursing homes in Texas received a PPE shipment.

Mr Abbott has been a failure as governor. He has been on the back of his heels dealing with the worst pandemic in the modern history of the United States from the beginning. Abbott couldn't decide what to do about the tens of thousands of young Texans hoping to go to the beach during Memorial Day Weekend, so what did Abbott do? He did nothing. No guidance for all those young Texans and those college students from out of state. No rules to follow. Nothing.

The result? Two weeks after that 3 day weekend, the number of Texans with Covid-19 began going up and it has never stopped going up. Even today, Abbott dithers. He squirms. He worries.

    Abbott does nothing.

Abbott is incapable of making a decision if there is even a remote chance of Mr trump not liking it, and if he hasn't received what he perceives as guidance from said lunatic, Mr trump, he will still spend endless hours, countless days worrying about what trump might think about it, whatever "it" may be. So what does Abbott ultimately do after chewing his fingernails to the nub? He does what amounts to swimming in sand. Abbott does nothing. Meanwhile, rhetorically speaking, Texas burns.
