It got out of control in NYC quickly at the start. There were tons of international and domestic flights going through NYC. Add in all the mass subway and train commuters, tourists, etc. It took time, shutdowns, etc.. to get it under control, while procuring needed supplies, etc..Where were you as this all unfolded? How do you not know how it got so bad so quickly? It happened in Italy, it happened in NYC, and yes, it can happen again here. Our President failed to act soon enough, spread "no worse than the flu" and "It will go totally disappear by April" type BS, and ignored the experts, as well as pleas from governors. He played tit for tat in providing assistance and turned it into a blame game against Democrats and China. Now we are testing more, using much better safety practices, and are catching it quicker. That's the good. The bad is that you can't keep rising in numbers like this before you get into a dire situation at hospitals. When beds get full, hospitals get overwhelmed, and then you have an emergency situation. That's when deaths rise. Then, you have all the people putting off medical care or elective surgery because they are too scared to risk getting exposed to the virus. There is a reason for preventive maintenance, and for people who don't get it the long term or short term effects can be critical. Deaths, whether documented as Covid or not are still lives lost that might have been prevented. If you can't understand that by now then you never will. I'm going by information from the Texas Medical Center and other health agencies. I certainly don't listen to Trump, Pence, or any politicians in power. I'll stick to the experts of medicine. They don't have other agendas. They are in the field of saving lives as their top priority.
Ugh, that's all I need is to get more infuriated about this whole thing. That being said, I prefer to be informed than hide from the truth.
Lol cherry picking drop in deaths in NY after initial spike. with a 100k+ dead number at least we dont have to hear about 40k deaths from the flu. The 'warm weather will cause it to go away' ship has finally sailed. i think they can drop that one hopefully...now we are back on the original talking point to all get it and its 'not so bad' If we are talking deaths and increases / decreases im seeing it rise for houston https://public.flourish.studio/visu...e=showcase&utm_campaign=visualisation/1691500
Yeah, I edited that. I worded it wrong in response to that guy in his fantasy bubble of belief that all is good, nothing to worry about. I don't know why I bother responding to a guy that brags about his vacation, and pokes fun at those of us who stay home and do our best to stop the spread. Thank God there are a lot of us who are at least respecting the seriousness of the situation, and have empathy for the families who are losing loved ones.
Yes my point is that deaths are rising https://public.flourish.studio/visu...e=showcase&utm_campaign=visualisation/1691500 Its not about fear monger either its understanding and hopefully a way forward. Im not down for us all getting it then trying to magic johnson it treating it away? how about we just dont fuc*king get it? How do i move to new zealand?
The cry of “the hospitals will be overwhelmed” has been heard since February but it simply hasn’t happened. Why are you still clinging to this? Capacity is there, and more can be made available. Why do you think the lockdown worked? If it did, then why does Los Angeles, with one of the most restrictive lockdowns, show such an increase in cases? The medical experts have been flailing and have been wrong so many times on this virus. They simply have swung and missed several times. I do agree that based on what we know now that people should wear masks, socially distance and protect the vulnerable. I’m supportive of those things. However we must continue to reopen the economy while doing these things. The deaths are dropping dramatically in the US, which to me shows this virus comes in, infects a huge amount of people, only kills the elderly/obese/sick and it leaves after a few months with the rest ok.
I hope people took my advice on booking cruises this summer. I am still waiting on my refund from a cruise booked well well before the pandemic. I have only gotten half my money back so far. The pandemic is unpredictable and so are cancellations by the cruise industry. I think booking a cruise anytime in the next few months is a terrible risk. It might be tempting, but you risk a lot more than just your health. Exclusive: Cruise industry announces US sailing suspension extended until Sept. 15
stupid question why cant you just do a chargeback if it is a refund situation? Are you trying to apply some future cruise credit? Im sure they are offering rebook incentives and probably many early cruisers will get some real deals but I wouldnt want to be a on one. Cruises have their place and are a neat alternative. My of my bucket list thrills still to do is the 7 day princess out of LA .."love boat" itinerary...goes down to cabo and puerto vallarta. Im even going to get white shoes for it ...one day hopefully keep hope alive
All the Trumpist morons who took victory laps in May against common sense after "only" thousands of their citizens died will now be dealing with death tolls in the tens of thousands, if they're lucky, and only if they go back to lockdowns Good job, Abbott, Desantis, Ducey, you dumb ****s.
Unlike Texas, Florida, and other states run by dipshit cockgobblers they took proper action to bend the curve. Pretty simple for those with the ability of abstract thought.
Cuomo in NY had the worst results of all. Not even close. Why did you leave him of your list? Shows how biased you are.
said another way, you can’t refute any of my points, so you flee from the discussion and try to tell me I lack common sense. Ok. I prefer to have a discussion with folks that are tolerant of others’ opinions, not folks who just lazily say “go away”.
really? Cuomo in NY, who had the worst results anywhere, took the proper actions? Data says otherwise.
I didn't want a voucher after the way they kept sailing from hotspots after the pandemic started. They put too many at risk and only cancelled when forced to basically. Italy was soaring already in March and Spain beginning to, yet my cruise didn't give me an option for a refund. I had a med cruise scheduled. I just waited until they were forced to cancel so I could be entitled to a refund. I did not want to fly in April. I got my flight refund within a week, got refunds for my apt in Barcelona and cottage rentals in Ireland. They were all understanding of the situation. It's the cruise company to this date has still held onto my money.
