What businesses will still be locked down after this coming Monday?

Our Governor is a disgrace in our oversight in protecting the vulnerable!

Thousands of Texas nursing home residents have tested positive for coronavirus

Among the 311 nursing homes with positive cases, there have been 3,011 residents infected. At assisted living facilities, nearly 400 residents have tested positive. At least 585 residents from both kinds of facilities have died.

He can't hide the truth forever.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The state of Texas refuses to release the locations of long-term care facilities with COVID-19 outbreaks, but now the federal government will begin releasing that information as soon as this month.

    Everything that is not:

    Essential Services
    Retail
    Restaurants
    Movie Theaters
    Museums
    Libraries
    Barbers/Salons
    Gyms

So, for example, bowling alleys and other interactive entertainment, massage therapists and other personal care services, etc. The fact that don't even know the basics of your state's governor's orders makes it even more laughable when you criticize other states.

But regardless, why is this Monday relevant? Why is the Michigan governor fascist but Abbott perfectly good for doing the exact things just for different time frames? Again, we all know your answer: she's a Democrat.

That is just not so. It is basically only those businesses that were locked down. Beyond that, we had a stay at home order for most people, which had the effect of locking down most of the rest of our state.

The stay at home order has been lifted. The lockdowns on highly social businesses will have been lifted by Monday. There are still capacity limits in effect, but those do not appear to be relevant in most cases, as people have been sufficiently frightened by the Democrat left promoted effort to terrify them that they are not frequenting these businesses in such high numbers as to exceed the capacity restrictions.

Except for the public schools, which would only have about two weeks remaining in the term anyway, even if they were to reopen, the state of Texas is open.

I am familiar with the order. Physician, heal thyself.

I don't believe that only "Democrat left" as some people claim. are the only ones concerned about some of the policies. It's more like the extreme right Republicans who are fighting tooth and nail to call Coronavirus fear a "fake fear".

I'm sure the concerns both ways go across party lines, even though Trump would like to project as a Do Nothing Democrat concern.

The head of Do Nothing for anyone but himself and his lobbyists is the man who shows less empathy and real concern for the people, and that's Trump himself.

Here's what will still be closed...not limited, closed...

Interactive amusement venues (bowling alleys, video arcades, etc)
    Water parks
    Massage parlors
    Tattoo studios
    Piercing studios

What's opening up, but still limited:

Gyms, non-essential manufacturing, and work offices can operate at 25% capacity or 5 or fewer workers with social distancing. Employers in office buildings working non-essential jobs are encouraged to build staggered shifts.

I'm not presenting this to argue with you...this is right out of any article that talks about what the order allows for as of tomorrow, May 18.

In MN they still aren't opening up gyms but I'm worried from the martial arts side about gyms opening. Many martial arts studios are also gyms and have weight and other equipment, many also teach cross fit. There is no such thing as social distance especially in things like Judo, BJJ and MMA. We frequently get exposed to sweat and blood of people we work out with. I'm worried that many of these dojos will open up under the argument that they are gyms and they will take this opportunity to go back to doing what they were doing.

I've called out people on martial arts boards including a BJJ instructor in Texas who was out protesting about the danger of spreading this. It's a losing cause and I know that many have been continuing to practice, including sparring, in secret.

To put a face on the folks who are scared to go back to work and balancing being scared, risking their health and losing their unemployment insurance.

No sympathy. Get back to work. Statistically they are looking at an infinitesimally small risk. We all have irrational fears, but life must go on.

It is amazing to me that this, of all things, has become partisan.

    That really is quite sad.

A world ending asteroid could be headed this way and Americans would still think it's some battle between red and blue.

The internet has its good and bad qualities. If you shut it down for a month and made people interact with each other it would probably be for the best. (pandemic aside)

To cut through all the BS and get to the point:

    1. Blue state governors told the world that if we didn't lockdown, then there would be mass deaths. Fauci said the same thing. We have now learned, as states opened up, that it's just not true. Even worse, we've learned that locking down in your homes can actually INCREASE the spread. If blue state governors started re-opening immediately, then they would be admitting that what they said earlier was proven incorrect. They don't want to do that and be made to look bad. Credibility would be shot for both them and the media (their partners).
    2. These same blue state governors also want to damage the economy, to then use that against Trump in an election year.
    Everything else is just noise.

Unfortunately, you're still thinking Covid-19 is a red v blue thing when it's a global thing.

It's not like S.Korea ordered a quarantine to get Trump out of office.

Rich elite or white house staffers go to bunkers. Have the meat shields block bunker availability for the rabble.

Meat Shield Puppeteer Laura Ingrahm : so what if the asteroid exists? More time outside. More vitamin D, which scientists agree is great for you. Less time in the office, which health specialists won't deny causes stress and early death! How much freer can you be?

The issue is how long to be in lockdown. Politicians are opportunists. As an event unfolds, they analyze whether one course of action helps them or not. Extending the lockdowns is believed (I think erroneously) to help the democrats. What we'll actually see, just like RussiaRussiaRussia, Kavanaugh, and impeachment, is that it backfires on the Democrats. People want their freedom.

Government officials are public servants. We are the boss - they are the servant. If any of my servants started telling me what I could or could not do, then I'd kick them off of my grounds without delay. Same principle should hold true with politicians.

If people wanted their freedom the patriot act would have never been reauthorized. Give it a rest already...
