15 DEATHS AT REHAB FACILITY IN KATY INVESTIGATED FOR COVID-19 OUTBREAK https://abc13.com/sterling-oaks-cov...ity-updated-coronavirus-texas-center/6365684/
This is no way to run our state. Abbott needs to do more to track, trace, and stop the spread. Masks aren't enough, especially with the push for schools and sports to resume.
this thing has spiraled so far out of control...I think it’s hopeless there’s just too many people doing there own thing...no one is united...everybody has a different plan, or in many cases, no plan at all we got schools reopening even tho many lack the funding or the infrastructure to do so safely...we got some leaders encouraging mask usage, and others not...we got anti-maskers, Covid hoaxers, etc I really see no end in sight until mass rollout of a vaccine or the virus miraculously mutates into something much less harmful
You are right. This is exactly what makes the leaders of some countries stand head and shoulders over Trump in the actions they took on a national level to stop the spread. Trump just passed the buck while sending out all kinds of conflicting messages, lies, and personal opinions. He thinks he is the expert in everything. His finger pointing, shaming, and blaming of everyone but himself is piss poor leadership. He created a mess of confusion, chaos, and division when it should have been a united approach led by him, following the advice of the medical experts. He has turned the United States into the Divided States in the fight to stop the spread.
School's open, Yoohoo we have a vaccine! Wait we don't? Then what's changed since March when we closed them? We got worse? So?
Sigh.... Trump adds coronavirus adviser who echoes his unscientific claims https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/12/politics/scott-atlas-donald-trump-coronavirus/index.html
We really need Trump out of office. He's killing Americans by the direct result of his incompetent self serving response to the pandemic. I honestly doubt if he gives a damn either, as long as he can golf every weekend and make money off housing his protection.
How many more people does Trump get to kill in order to win the Electoral College again? I hope we don't find out, either way, but I have to agree with Reeko: it's too late, in a way. We can patch the largest hole in the dike but there are too many leaks and not enough Dutch boys. Hell, watching that first day of school in Georgia----the photo posted by the girl who was suspended for it (what country do we live in, anyway?), then un-suspended (I guess when her story went national the school district backed away like a hiker from a mama grizzly), then received death threats (again, what country do we live in?) Kids packed into the hallway, so many not wearing masks. Thanks, Mister "President". Thanks, FOX "News".
You can tell he's getting all his talking points from Atlas as everything I've researched about the guy basically shows how Trump is parroting him at this point. The thing is, Atlas isn't an infectious disease expert...he's a neuroradiology/MRI expert. Why his opinion matters over people that have spent their lives studying infectious diseases is bewildering. By the way, Atlas predicted in March that we'd have 10,000 deaths and may have started the whole "Coronavirus isn't worse than the flu" talking point. He also wrote an easily disproven study that showed that the US GDP would lose over $1M a month if it continued to be shutdown. https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/503047-our-lockdowns-are-not-deadlier-than-the-disease Lately, he's been the champion of getting kids back into school and saying things such about the mental health aspects, that most teachers were young enough to sustain it, that there has been no evidence of children giving the disease to their teachers, and was probably the reason Trump blasted out that tweet and facebook post that said that kids were basically immune from the disease as Atlas had said this: “children under 18 have virtually zero risk of death from this” or serious illness." which the White House has pointed to when questioned about Trump's statements. https://www.statesman.com/news/20200806/fact-check-are-children-almost-immune-from-coronavirus This guy is a partisan blowhard (like Peter Navarro) who can't stand government intervention in the medical field...has railed against Obamacare and Medicare overall...his Stanford fellowship is as part of a Conservative Think-tank on the effects of government intervention in the medical arena...he's advised three republican campaigns to include Bush Jr, McCain and Romney. He has no business advising the leader of our country during a mess like this and he's probably only going to make things worse.
This man is payed to protect and serve. Disgusting! Where's the outrage from Trump and his governing puppet?
more on Sweden https://200proofliberals.blogspot.com/2020/08/if-we-may-only-compare-sweden-to-other.html
Fine OS, if you want to use Sweden as an example in comparison to Italy without any context, then I will use New Zealand as an example to the rest of the world without any context. NZ completely shut down immediately when they got their first case of community transfer and eliminated the virus with only 4 deaths per million people. Just this week, after about 3+ months of being Covid free, it someone broke out again in the community, this time they have completely shut down their capital in Auckland, and will shut down any other part of the country with community transfer, and we will again witness their attempt to beat the virus through competent government leadership that respects science and math. You may not object this comparison to the united states, nuance and context go out the window with whoever is trying to compare Sweden to Italy.
