I said this back in May but it's still true. We're losing to the virus. At this point all we can do is mitigate the damage. The will to fight is arguably the single most important factor in war and it's clear that much of our population doesn't have that will.

I agree. Given the scope of things now in the states, I don't think you can expect much from the standard strategy against this virus (testing, contact tracing, etc.) any longer. A hard shutdown/quarantine for nearly the entire country for 14 weeks may work, but that's just not going to happen. Hopefully, the vaccine will be made soon and become available en masse.
First study of its kind from South Korea 10-19 year old children transmit the virus just as much as adults. With younger the transmision is siginificantly at a lower rate (almoat 1/3). So I guess it is almost safe to re open kindergartens, preschools and elementary schools as long as the virus isnt running rampant.
