these fans that get all pissy because Morey hasn't done a blockbuster trade yesterday are starting to annoy me.

Steven Francis was a blockbuster trade, where did he take us? The players we got for Scottie Pippen was a blockbuster trade, what happened to those players?

*Insert the Rudy Gay/Shane Battier trade for the usual "But what about that? See, Morey sucks!" comment"*

Unless there is hardware to show for it, it's not a success.

It is mainly becase we have a good match-up last year...
If we face someone like j*zz or mavs, it is totally a different story...

Yes, the team is still doing a qualified job this year but we can get better and Morey hesitate to accomplish that and miss the chance finally...

morey overvalues his young core players, after the miami heat game, we saw how bad the rockets can be without ARIZA! and without lowry; I want to see change, improvements, and if we dont make a trade this eason chances are in the offseason we will not have enough money to sign the big name free agents out there because of mcgrady expired contract!!!

Morey missed his chance at what exactly? Trading with the Wizards?

"Did u C Moreys new Twitter hes PWNING Bill Simmons LMFAO !"!

Morey is the young hipper "guy you'd have a beer with" kinda GM with a sense of humor. He's relatable, its big part of his appeal. Anyone can see that.

Basketball-wise, Morey is seeing contributing talent that we're not seeing. NO ONE saw the Scola move, dont listen to the liars who "knew". No one saw the Landry move. No one cared for Aaron Brooks. No one saw the Kyle Lowry pickup. He turned duds Bonzi Wells+Mike James into Bobby Jackson which helped get Ron Artest.

    I also like Artest & Scola's move.
For the young player, I think it is just fair move.
NBA is full of young talent, Landry & Brooks are lucky that can get chance in Rockets...
Many young player disapper in NBA because they did not get chance in their first team but they are not worse than Landry & Brooks.

Huh, I always assumed the term came from the book "Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" by Tom Wolfe about the LSD experiments of the 1960s. Didn't realize it had a much more morbid connotation.

As for Morey, it's becoming pretty clear he's now transitioning the team out of the TMac-Yao era. He wants to keep the current group competitive, but he won't do so at the expense of building a championship roster for the long haul.

And the jury is out on whether Morey is going to succeed in the end, whether his approach will net the Rockets the star players they need. Barring a surprise trade in the next few days, we may have to wait as long as the 2011 off-season to really know for sure.

I can understand bashing DM, considering how easy it is to propose trading all our scrubs for Lebron, DWade, Kobe, etc.

It's not over til it's over. There's just too much impatience on this board.

My prediction is that we'll rock the NBA because we'll make the playoffs with good role players and no superstars, but only because we wanted it.

Think of the stir that will cause when so many teams go out and spend ridiculous money on superstars and get the same or worse result than we did.

Winning is a state of mind, not a right.

I truly believe that the Ariza deal will work out in the end. We got him to be a key defensive player, someone to continue the mindset that Shane Battier has had. The problem with him this year is that we do not have that superstar or key offensive player so Trevor seems to think that it is him. If we can sign a solid offensive player I think that Trevor will fall into his place and be a great asset. Also, LA got Artest at a nice price but he is no factor there.

Having to put you're biggest defender on artest and off of kobe is not a factor?

Regarding the Battier for Gay deal, did Memphis really get the better end of the deal?

Imagine if we had kept Gay. Right now, we'd be worried about how much of a raise this scorer (that's all he is) wants. Twelve million? Fifteen million?

Is Rudy Gay really worth that much money?

I screamed with delight when I heard his name on draft night. Spit actually came out of my mouth. Anyone that watched college ball knew that was a sweet pick.
