    FAILLLLLLL

There are too many people out there that think real life is NBA Live where making trades is so much fun and easy. I think most people want us to make a move JUST for sake of change and something new, even if it doesnt benefit us not just now but down the road.

I wrote this in another thread but I'm going to write this again...this year was suppose to be a failure! Everything we've done this season and every win we obtain till the end of it has been a bonus! We have no stars, but a damn good team of role players, Morey knows that and is waiting for the RIGHT star to insert into this team. Whether that be resigning Yao, or resigning Yao and bringing in X player, or sitting on T-Mac's contract and letting it expire and letting Yao go to sign X and Y players...WHO KNOWS?

Morey isn't taking the Drayton McLane Houston Astros approach and I'm HAPPY about that. After the World Series run the Astros were stuck with a mediocre roster that was filled with holes all over the place way too many to plug and be legit contenders for a championship. Well due to alot of late season overachieving year in and year out that left the playoffs just on the outside of the playoffs, Astros brass felt they could contend and gutted their youth and their organizational future to bring in a few guys they thought could plug up the holes. Well they didn't, and not only did they constantly miss the playoffs, because of said moves they are stuck in the deep hole of terribleness they are now. Right now the Rockets are overachieving, which is great and all, but Morey isn't going to trade away key pieces in his/the team's overall/future plans, for bad contract guys or rentals just so we have a CHANCE at making the playoffs.

There are alot of deep, talented teams in the NBA this year and I think we are "fortunate" that we aren't TRULY in the mix this year for a title. Let the big dogs duke it out and beat each other up, and let their older stars age another year. And we'll be back when the time is right (I'm thinking NEXT YEAR).

In Morey We Trust and In Thread Starter We Ignore!! (Props on being caught with your pants down infront of the entire Clutchfans community by the way)

    Cool story, bro.

You kind of forgot how we got Chase Budinger for cash, Kyle Lowry for Airballston, Carl Landry for cash and a throwaway pick, Scola for V-Span and a second-rounder.

But cool story. Keep drinking the haterade.

Mind you, I don't think Morey's perfect. But consider, he was essentially dealt the following hand:

Let's not stake everything on whether he can magically transform an expiring contract attached to an injured player into multiple starters for a contender, eh?

Who is talking about Butler in my posts? Your problem is you are super opinionated. Just shut up for once and understand what the other posters are saying. Brooks super good for his salary and one of the best PG's relatively speaking? How many assists does he have per game?

Anyway, you have been trolling around in this GARM for quite some time now trying to show how smart you are and contradicting countless posters in the process. Just shut up for once will you. You are not that smart so stop trolling. If you are not getting any appreciation about your brains from your family or friends don't project your complex here.

Your complaint is that Morey won't trade our young players and overvalues them. I pointed out that if we're going to trade Brooks and Landry, we need someone damn good (and given that the reason everyone's going nuts right now is due to a failure to get Butler, logic dictates that we examine the facets of this trade.)

And if your only measure of how good a PG is is how many assists he gets, you have to re-analyze your game and the way the Rockets work. Who's Brooks going to give assists to? Ariza, Hayes and Battier are not great offensive players really by any standard of the term, and Scola's average. We need someone who can score, and Brooks provides that at a very low price. As of now, he is a top 10 PG in the league, and when you consider we don't even pay him 1.5 million, it is a brilliant deal. Not sure what you're complaining about.

Trolling? You and a bunch of others are running around like headless chicken going " WE'RE DOOMED WE'RE DOOMED MOREY SUX CUZ WE DIDN'T GET BUTLER TRADE EVERYONE TANK TANK", not me. I'm the one going that we have to be calm, patient, and wait out for a good opportunity, and that Morey will eventually make a good valuable move, which many esteemed members have said. This is a developmental season, meaning for now patience, a quality which some of you lack. At minimum, wait until the trade deadline before hitting the panic button.

I also dont know why some fans like Morey so much.
Morey has done some good job. like getting Scola and Artest.
Artest will make great impact to team if TMac & Yao can be healthy in the season.
But he has also done many his LOW-RISK investment to gamble someone will have return and he always hesitate to do a big operation and choose to wait until last minate...
He is a good business man, but he is just a average nba team manager at this moment.

missing the playoffs is the best case scenario for this team long term.

did you really think we were going to get Caron Butler lol, or even TWO stars like someone was posting. Les aint going to shell out the money for that, and that's what Morey would have had to do to get either of those deals, let along multiple deals done

Seems to have not worked out so well.

What big moves do you suggest? He's not just going trade for the sake of trading.
Waiting 'till the last minute? How many trades have been completed, as of right now? Both sides of a trade wait until the last minute to consider other offers.

That's a good summary of the things Morey has done to create depth from virtually NOTHING. I think he is the best in the league at that right now.

Uh what about the Mades DM has got?

Lowry, Scola, Brooks and Landry...those 4 guys alone are worth all the "misses" DM has made. And they aren't even misses, I'd rather have Ariza over Artest if they're making the same amount of dough

Teams go to salary cap and talent hell not because they failed to pull the trigger on that big deal. Look around. All the teams in a world of poo are there because their GM was afraid to loose a free agent and signed him to a monster deal, or because they felt the overwhelming need to make something happen and so they signed someone to a ridiculous contract or pulled the trigger on a deal and ended up with someone else's leviathan contract mistake.

The fact that he hasn't made any crappy monster cap killing mistakes reaching for something by itself alone makes him one of the better 1/3 of GM's in the NBA.

Take this same team and replace Hayes with Yao.

    Happy?
