I thought I would never say this, but I thought the GARM was better when Pryuen and his followers were here. Their opinions were skewed but they only had respect for Olajuwon.

I never asked for respect, I am just someone with an opinion and if you don't agree with it then good for you. I never said that you had to agree with me.

I fully understand your opinion about Hakeem, it is just not the same as mine.

I'm not trying to be a troll or offend anyone so try to be less like this- and more like this- :)

I'm not responding to anyone more posts in this thread so have a nice day. :)

No such thing as "folk legend". The only term that applies to DREAM is "LEGEND" There is maybe 3 or 4 players better than Dream during his playing time. Jordan, Bird, and Magic...

All u need to do is ask Jordan, Bird, and Magic for a recap. You can also ask Ewing, Shaq, and poor David Robinson how good dream is.

    Two star thread? Pretty harsh.

    The Dream was the greatest.

it's not really about his true legend. the witnesses and history will not change.

    it's about the perception.

there are young chicago bulls fans, they would never question if a player on a losing Orlando team was better than jordan or would they dare ask if Jordan's DPOY award was justified.

yet some younger fans of the 'rockets' really wouldn't have the pride in Dream as the bulls fans have in jordan, or young laker fan has in Magic etc.

to me, not respecting Dream is not respecting the Rockets and the city of Houston and Clutchfans .

toyota center? yao ming? international success and popularity? clutchfans?

    they don't deserve it.

This has got to be the most dumb question anyone has ever asked in this forum.

Hakeem is still the Greatest Underrated Player to play the game. If he wasn't in the Jordan-era, he would've been in more people's mouths. Olajuwon will always be one of the Greatest Ever To-Hold-The-Court in my book!

Just look at what he contributes to the game. He fought amongst some of the best and has even mentored the soon-to-be best. If you've never witnesses The Dream shake his moves, then you've only imagined half of his capabilities.

    The Dream never dies!

I literally grew up watching Akeem play, I was only 6 yrs old and I would watch Pi Slamma Jamma with my older brother. I watched just about every game he played for his entire career with Houston.

The Rockets won their first championship a few weeks after I graduated from high school. Those were the greatest days. Hakeem made everything so perfect.

I didn't realize until many years later how spoiled I had been all my life. Every single day without The Dream makes me miss him more and more.

There will never be another. Olajuwon #1 forever.
