I was reffering to the untochable comment. Morey thought Scola was a long shot and look at what happened. Calderon is friends with Scola. But if you are Morey you have to look at this way. If its on the table you have to go after it because your talking about trading 2 role players for a border line elite point guard its a no brainer you make the move. Battier+Landry for Calderon hell i would even give up Jackson and Brooks as well and they more than likely wont see a deal like this thrown at them unless its Chicago and they throw out Deng at them. But still your talking about trading a hustle defenisive catch and shoot role player and a energy power forward and a aged expiring contract and a unproven point guard for a border line elite point guard and a top 10 shooter that is a no brainer. Morey has to go after it.

And if he is looking for a big to sweeten the deal all he has to do is call New Jersey to see if they want Kapono instead of Swift in a 3 way trade and just imagine this. I always thought Swift would flourish in this type of system and said before the season begain some where else. If Landry can dunk the ball so much as he does just imagine how many dunks Swift could see. He would dunk just as much if not more than Landry and all he does is does the same think Landry does and that is find seams in the defense and dunk. Swift would be a expiring contract so how bad could that actually be + his defense is better than Landry's

This gives you the rest of the MLE to sign a back up center lets say Diop.
Then you got Francis coming back.

You limit Alston's minutes for more efficient basketball.

    Yao/Swift/Diop
    Scola/Swift/Hayes
    McGrady/Novak/Harris
    Francis/Head
    Calderon/Alston

Okay... I cannot believe you created a deal where we have to take Swift back.

Did you miss how he performed the LAST time he was in Houston?

In a stagnant offense sure did its not his game.

Diop is a shot blocker with size and wont get bullied in the post.
Is this not what the Rockets lack vs Phoenix?
Try finding a better center and get back with me.

The only way Calderon leaves Toronto is only if he wants to and is willing to play out next season on a one year deal.

Hahaha, wow, talk about overvaluing... Calderon is not Lebron... A lot of teams could probably get him for a reasonable price. It's not like the Raptors played any better when Ford went out with injury or anything.

People overrate Calderon so much it's not even funny. For one, he couldn't guard his shadow. He is one of the 5 worst defensive pg's in the NBA. Secondly, he's had a little more then half a good season. He's also cooled off signifigantly and slows down the offense. He's a good shooter, a smart player and a good passer. He's not what a lot of people think though. He would get baptized in the West.

I'd rather take my chances on AB. I can see a Tony Parker with a better jump shot. No way we let Landry go anywhere.
