Huh, JG 53% TS age 21 season - Kobe 54% TS age 21 season. It's almost like score first guards take time to develop and deciding they can't shoot at age 22 is dumb as hell. EDIT: Oh he's actually a year younger than I realized.
It's really nice to see over 70% voted to keep both. We have some very loud voices demanding we trading one or the other, but I'm happy to see the vast majority want to see them play together.
I don't know which is more hilarious, comparing today's advanced stats to 25 years ago or the fact that Kobe had a higher TS% than Jalen 25 years ago. Kobe age 21, Season League average TS% : 51.1, Kobe TS%: 54.81% Jalen age 21, Season League average TS% : 58.1 Jalen TS&: 53.85% Stop insulting Kobe already.
I don't know what's more hilarious you actively trashing on Rockets players on Rocket boards rather than celebrate their successes because you have nothing better to do in your life, or the fact that 10 years later at age 31-32 Kobe was still posting 54-55 TS%. And Jalen doesn't get the benefit of playing next to the most dominant player in NBA history.
The sad thing is that because of a few idiots on this board it is now spreading like wildfire on X "The Rockets are better without Sengun". We are the only fanbase that does this to our own players when its not true lol Its one thing if the player was playing horrible but just making it up out of spite for your own team is weird.
Let me ask you this how effective were the GSW with Dreymond, Looney and Iguodala? All of which were not 3pt shooters? Its because they had more MOVEMENT. Only Clay and Steph were 3pt shooters but the court was spread and it allowed them to score at ALL three levels. But more so, could you envision the defense w/Duren and Ausar??
Jalen had already turned the corner before Alp got hurt. Sux that he hasn't been there for this ride and can't wait to see him back on the court WITH JG. Could it be in the postseason???
I said that?? I looked back at what I said and I didn't see where I said that or did you just ass(ume) something?? But that's just like you assuming Sengun is Jokic too
we should do due diligence and see if jalen can maintain this excellent performance. if he keeps this up pairing him up someone as talented and consistent as sengun is a no brainer. just imagine if we have this version of green for the whole season with sengun, our team would b disgusting. I think the one player that made a huge difference in our performance is amen. when sengun comes back and green is playing like this a line up of sengun amen fvv smith green would b pretty good
I'm not reading all this because I'm assuming a lot of it is toxic. Here's my take as a Jalen "Stan". Sengun is most definitely the more "sure" thing to bet on. Both have similar ceilings. I don't want to chose though. I want both. Edit: wow I'm surprised at the poll results. It's as if all the Sengun only fans left for the off-season. I even disagree with the poll results in terms of what is a safer bet if you had to point a gun to my head and force me to chose one.
When will this stop? I do not hate Jalen whatsoever. I don’t want him traded and have not advocated for it at any point. I am not of the belief that his shooting will never get better, I’m quite sure it will get better and more consistent, but this comparison is ridiculous. You have to compare players to the era that they played in. Age 21 Kobe’s TS% was 2.3% points BETTER than league average. Age 21 Jalens TS% is 4.3% points WORSE than league average.
Huh? I am not trading away Sengun, I want him to provide contrast but play in a faster paced system. DD
