I have no idea. I'll just say Jones because DMo and seems like he could handle a bigger offensive load, and you can never have too much bench scoring. But ask me tomorrow and my answer might be different.
Howard for sure.. Asik can handle any big out there.. Howard struggles guarding bigs'...what else needs to be said
As of today, Casspi. I hope Asik will be healthy and fit to start at the 4 when the regular season begins. His defense and rebounding will be very valuable.
Well people just realized that Dwight is a defensive monster and gives you offense, something that Asik couldn't do. People's opinions are still adjusting to that. Prior Dwight you couldn't do that.
If Casspi keeps up his good performance, he is going to edge out someone (Dmo, Jones, Smith). Not saying Casspi will start at the 4, but wouldn't rule it out either. Lots of time, games and practices to go. Way too early to say who will emerge at the 4 for either unit. But if the regular season opened tomorrow, I would be tempted to start Casspi at the 4.
D-Mo because he's a better interior passer then Jones. His 3 point shot and 7 footer status would help Dwight more in the opening minutes of games. Casspi would probably occupy the most minutes if he continues to play well.
I would think that the coaching staff knows who would start if the season started today. Coaches are constantly taking in new data so who they think today wouldn't be set in stone. That said, we are two weeks away from the start of the season. 2 weeks of preseason is a very short time and I doubt there is much DMo, Jones, or Casspi can do to change the coaching staff's minds in that short of time.
I have to vote Asik because I don't believe in any of the other guys yet. It's better to take a good player and figure it out than to plug in a scrub because he's the right "type".
