Any player will play like sh-- if you ask them to do something they're not comfortable doing.

Next thread topics: "is steve nash one of the worst centers of all time?" "Was shaq one of the worst PG's of all time?"

The bottom line is, lin isn't playing PG and almost never has for the rockets. He's playing: "bring the ball up, hand off to harden, then go stand in a corner as far away from harden as possible while he shows you and everyone else how to score" guard.

“As a point guard, the last person that needs to get going is the point guard,” he said.

I don't know when that changed but he would have not accomplished this if that was his mindset during his time with the Knicks. That is weird coming from him. That was not the Jeremy from last year. :(

It was put in context with what he said. Read the whole post...don't look at the image as a separate issue.

    I hope not. :(

We'll see tonight if he will make some adjustments. He acknowledged that he needs to be more energetic.

I can understand if he's back in New York and trying to get guys like Chandler, Melo, Amare, Smith, and Novak involved but that's not the type of players he has here. He needs to be more of a scoring pg for the Rockets to be more effective. Harden can get his whenever and doesn't need Lin to get him involved.

I agree. The team needs him. If (I said if) he needs to break some rules...so be it.

I agree with you. This is actually a skill and has been considered a positive in the league for a long time. Here is the first time I've actually seen people put down the ability to draw a foul.

c'mon, he's no longer on the knicks! different team, different players around, different skill set, different coaches, different system, different emphasis, different role, etc...

this is what the coaches are asking him to do in order for the TEAM to succeed. whether or not it works, we won't know till we let the season play out and evaluate the system vs. the personnel you have and then tweak accordingly. keep in mind that the coaches had nothing to work off of when the season started, except a system that they'd like to run. they plug the players in, and let them play within the system and see what happens. well, we're still in the seeing/experimenting phase right now, and you really don't have the time (especially during this losing streak) to play around with the system and implement new things until either all-star break or after the season.

it's obvious that jeremy and the team CAN succeed in this system, and it's also obvious what he needs to work on this off season. even the miami heat didn't change their system until lebron and wade and bosh has played together for 2 years.

it's not milking - it's comparing his potential to how he is being utilized now.

i still believe he can thrive in this system - just gotta give him time to learn his new teammates and develop other skills to shore up his role in this system; mainly, hit the open 3 consistently.

i also believe that the coaches (if mchale is retained) will sit down during the off season, evaluate the system vs. personnel, and determine what changes will need to be made to the system in order to leverage the stronger skills of the players.

i'm 70% confident that we will see a revised role for jeremy next season that takes advantage of his natural instincts as well as allow him to facilitate.

Under McHale most PGs would be one of the worst....suprisingly Lin has managed to at least be average.

Deceiving. It's about body of work. Lin is no where close to those legends.
Not the weapon of magic. Not the shooter like isiah. Doesn't have the ball skills of Stockton.

Can you find a rockets pic though, I'm not a Knicks fan and this is not a Knicks board
