    We've got Harden and Howard already. Anything now is just a cherry on top. If we strike out would prefer a Millsap/Randolph/David West type of banger. Those guys are unbelievably useful in the playoffs.

    Question is who and how.

    For Miami. The quoted post said "if not deng" in reference to Miami.

    We're not the desperate ones. I was referring to the Parsons situation.

    CyberX and Codman have both said we are in the game, therefor Melo has not made up his mind, and no one really knows what he will choose. This isn't like last year where everyone really knew from the get go that Dwight was coming here, and the media was just making stuff up to get ratings.

    If Melo passes up on a young up and coming team, with two top 10 stars in their prime, another young star on the rise in CParsons, and a organization dedicated to winning then........He is a dumb a$$

    Very interesting how CYBREX & KINGDREW posted at the same time back to back in this busy thread. I guess some news really broke...

    Broussard has been quiet, I'm expecting him to try to break it first. Woj. & Stein were active yesterday

    Now, I realized that he cares more about celebrity status than winning. Carmelo, please don't come to Houston meeting again. He did not tell the truth about winning.

    here's what's been baffling me though;

    the rockets want to hold on to asik/lin incase a major FA wants a S&T in order to get the super max from the team he's leaving. but melo's camp gave the lakers extra points for being able to make a max offer not without any other moves needing to be made.

    why not just move both now, get under the cap, and start handing out offer sheets?

    Maybe. I think that's reading too much into it. Probably coincidence more than anything. Drew's post was more a reiteration of what he said last night anyways right?

    I think the point is LA can offer him a full max. It's very unlikely Houston can offer him a full max without going the sign and trade route.

    Because we need Lin's contract for matching purposes should we need it. Flexibility is key right now, and moving Lin now reduces it. We can always eye blink our number to another player seeking the max knowing we can unload Lin. No reason to do that until such time.

    I mean, don't go to Houston meeting again when he becomes a free agent in 4 or 5 years. We know who he is now.

    so he is going to LA to not make the playoffs for the next 2-3 years AT LEAST for LESS money than he would make in NY? Also, the difference between our offer after dumping Lin and the Lakers max is minuscule because of the difference in state tax. Cali has ~13% state income tax on millionaires which over the life of the contract is a massive decrease in income. He would basically be taking a similar paycut to what he would be taking in Hou anyways.
