As a non-American, I am so proud of the US right now

if you supported bush, this is such hollow argument, especially since what occured with russia (increase of influence) on w's watch, especially walking in office trusting putin.

its quite ridiculous that russia would be your example actually, if you supported bush

A couple American people and a couple Canadian people in this thread got their panties all up in a bunch, you know, and then you got to find a way to pick your panties out of your ass-crack gracefully ... it's pretty difficult. It's better not to get your panties in a bunch, and that is why I recommend garters and lace stockings with no panties and maybe a nice feather boa to complete the ensemble. I'm sure you see my logic here - if you have no panties, you have no panties-in-a-bunch, and feather boas are sexy on the thadeus.

I have to say, if Bush were allowed to run for a 3rd term, I don't think he would. Listening to his speech today, I have never heard him so unenthusiastic, run down, and hopeless.

I was a big Bush supporter in 2000, it was the first time I could vote in an election, and I was pumped to cast my vote for him.

    2004, I think it was more anti-Kerry, then pro-Bush.

The man has stones, and I think he is very intelligent, just not very articulate.
I will never forget the days after 9/11, when I have never been more proud to be an American, and alot of that was because of George W. Bush. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be the President of the United States that day. I had all the confidence in the world for him.

of course it dwindeld. Bush is easy to attack because of his mannerisms, his dialouge and mostly because of his decisions, but the MSM had it in for him and their attack on him was relentless, I don't know if it was because of 2000 and Florida or what........the guy took way more than he deserved. I'm glad Bush is gone, for his own sake. The guy looks like he has been beaten to a pulp.

This is ridiculous. The guy gives a compliment and just because you don't like the way it's worded you derail the entire thread. I voted for Obama and I was at the official democratic party at the Rio last night and I was moved by the diveristy of the Obama supporters. Black, white, asian, hispanic, young, old, middle aged and so on were all mingling, celebrating, and just having a great time. So for the first time in a very long time I was pround of the US as well.

As much as the West in general and the US in particular has and still exhibits paternalism, you chose to be "offended" by the OP's comments. As I said, I think that's ridiculous. I won't even begin to list how the West (US included) talks down and tells the rest of the world what to do and judges others by their own (Western) standards. Where was your "outrage" then? I expect to see you condemn the West when they speak or act in paternalistic terms for now on as well.

I know you apologized later, but you hijacked the thread with the quote above.
