yeah i noted that as an exception for me as well. I'm assuming, like discovery green, it is something rather new... if not, google me surprised.

all that said, having moved to Houston in 1971, I'm not a 'native' myself.

Not much different than any other major city. Sporting events, concerts, festivals throughout the year, a good theater district, museums, tons of good restaurants, bars/clubs, movies. Also, close enough for a day trip to Galveston or weekend trip to Austin, San Antonio, South Padre and New Orleans.

Off top of my head Downtown Aquarium and a Texans game though I can probably come up with more if I put some thought into it.

I've been to Reliant for several Cougar games, but the last pro football game I went to was the one where Buddy Ryan punched Gilbride.

I only went to one Rockets game in the Summit when I was maybe 5 or so (dad isn't much of a basketball fan). The only other times I went to Summit were for Sesame Street Live and some high school graduations later on.

In grade school? Pretty much nowhere important. Basically go to movies or fast food places to hang with friends. Or go to each other houses to play video games, etc. They're not Rockets fans, so I tend to go to a coupl of Rockets games myself.
    Went to college outside Houston.
Afterwards, the few years I did live in Houston, I usually spend my vacation days camping various national parks with family or friends.
    Then I left the country.

I'm guessing my only reasoning is that my parents are transplants and not Houston natives. I don't know what else to give. If I don't know them, I don't know them. I mean, Butterfly Center? Kemah Board Walk? House of Blues? I just either never heard of them or heard them in passing and simply forgot?

    That's a whole 'nother state. We're talking about Houston . :p

I know. I KNOW. You meant "The Colorado Grill," didn't you? Neither have I.

Orange show began construction in 1956. Its across the street from the beer can house

I have only been to both because we went on a 3rd grade field trip to both in the 90s

I was looking up info on the Indian reservation. My dad wanted to go in 2004, but they stopped doing tours and stuff. My dad wanted to take his nephew because he wasn't from the states. They don't have Native Americans where his nephew is from believe it or not.

    More importantly, THEY HAD CASINOS.
    But it was shut down.

I've never been to South Park, Houston.

Even though South Park Mexican is my hero and I dedicate everything I do in my life to his glory, I have never actually visited the area where this legend grew up.

We live in NW Houston, but attend a church in South Park. For that reason I am in that area quite often.

It's a 50+ mile round trip to church and back, but they have good church there IMO.
