I'm not denying innocents have been killed, but I don't think we just did it for the hell of it or even solely to make a statement. We are hitting our enemies and we try to not kill innocents. But if it is necessary, then we do what we do and hope civilian damage is minimized

Btw, both the Bush and the Kennedy families got very wealthy from investing in Nazi businesses. The lesson is that you can be neutral w/o immoral and you can be on the good-guys side w/o being completely good.

Yeah living p*****s who don't actively involve themselves in the affairs of the world apparently. Given that they don't have overwhelming power, perhaps it is understandable, but to say that we, with all of our might and power, should not worry about the rest of the world is wrong in my opinion. And if the Bush and Kennedy families did this, no one's saying it's right. Don't try to hit me with something I wasn't aware of to make it sound like I supported it or something.

I imagine he is referring to the somewhat "overzealous" raids at Ruby Ridge and the Koresh compounds. I could easily see
further incidents occuring in the wake of this horrible tragedy.

If we have to be a little overzealous in the wake of this, the perhaps so be it. I'm not saying these outcomes should be repeated, but if our safety is compromised, please be overzealous.

No, just don't go rushing into every little hot spot in the world. If we can't make it better, don't freaking try. It'll just stir up resentment.

Obviously don't go into EVERY hot spot, but if the spots we have to go into are dangerous and controversial, I say don't just stand on the sidelines b/c people might not like you for it.

For the last part, did you read what he said we should do? Find for me where he said we should do nothing? Please. I'm waiting. Oh, that's right, he didn't.

He did not say do nothing, he said wait (and I assume he means for a possibly extended period of time) and I'm not in favor of that for any longer than absolutely necessary. Get the damn facts quickly and when it becomes obvious you know who did this, take action. This isn't our judicial system where we need insurmountable evidence so some d******d defense lawyer can't loophole a murderer out of conviction, this is an attack on us that needs to be countered.

He said we need to be careful about killing civilians on our way to getting the bad guys. That's (supposedly) the same thing DaDakota et al have been saying, only more emphatically. Do you object to being careful about civilians?

And I have been fairly supportive of most of the things DaDakota has been saying. And yes, obviously I object to being careful about civilians, care nothing about them, and hope we kill them all. That is my purpose in life, not being careful about civilians.

And I know that I'd rather be sure we know what we're doing than invade a country, killing more civilians and pissing more people off, in a gesture that seems to be entirely symbolic at this point. I'm tired of people dying for symbolism.

It won't be symbolic if it involves getting back at terrorists. I don't want to wait six months and I know very few other who do.
