If it improves our froncourt defense, then it's a moot point really.

I think defense at the 1 is way more important than defense at the 2. Applying pressure on the opposing PG, giving him certain angles, making him use a certain side, that kind of stuff affects the whole opposing team.

I hope Spree doesn't come. I'm sorry to say, even though he's one of my favourites, he's washed up. Since zones were implemented, his lack of a consistent shot has been more and mroe evident, and now, teams now how to make him take those hosts that he misses regularly. You know what they say, you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

I just hope JVG, Dawson, and Alexander aren't even contemplating doing bull***t like that.

I don't see how we can take on Houston's contract. He signed a 100 million deal for 6 or 7 years in 2001. I would pass.

Houston contract expires the same time as Taylor's contract so that really doesn't matter. I'm just simply stating that if you really want to get someone to who can knock down shots from 2 and 3 pt land to give Francis a drive and kick partner as well as Ming a reliable scorer and shooter, then Houston fits the bill. Of course his contract is heavy, but from the looks of it, he's playing better as the yrs are going by. When his contract expires, he'll be 36 yrs old, which may be considered a negative also. Houston is one of the top 3 or 4 best shooters in this league period who can also scorer and isn't just a specialist type of player.

There are guys out there who are probably cheaper like Redd or someone like that, but convincing a team like Milw who is cost cutting because of sale is going to be a tough sell. many will point to Barry in Seattle, but what do th want from us in return for giving up a guy who will come off the books next season. The other Barry is a career bench player and I'm not sure how many minutes you would want him playing every night. Its ways to go, but I'm just saying if you wnt a premium shooter/scorer, you're going to have to pay the price. All indications is McDyess might not play this yr also, so Taylor could fill that bill right there and Mobley takes over for Houston. The draft pick might be used on a pg of some kind so it does makes sense. I'm strictly talking about the Houston for Mobley/Taylor deal, thats all.

While I think the original deal isn't good, Mobley/Taylor for Houston is hardly a bad deal. It's a pretty good deal for the Rockets.

    MacBeth - that's hilarious.

For once, I'd like to see the Rockets actually get some cap room instead of automatically giving it to the first offer they hear. (Not that this is an offer; I understand that.)

Does anybody think there's no way the Rockets and Knicks will have any dealings for the next two years because the Van Gundy connection would be too open to conspiracy theories? Just a thought...

How is having a 2-guard who is sucking up cap space better then have a solid 2-guard and a starting PF? The Rockets need more help up front, so we deal away one of our only consistent PFs just to replace our 2-guard? That's what it comes down to replacing your 2-guard with another 2-guard while giving up a PF. The Knicks can keep Houston's brutal contract, Mobley's contract is up relatively soon, and Taylor's isn't anywhere near as bad as Houston's.

Entertaining trading for Houston is flat out r****ded. His cap hit is ridiculous. Yes he's a good shooter, but he doesn't do anything else well and a lot of nights he flat out dissappears.

Rox would be better suited going after a cheap fa shooter like Piat instead.

Tell me the scenerio when Taylor will actually be starting for this team. If that case can be made , then Houston made a terrible mistake drafting Griffin. You mean to tell me a guy making 8mill playing 24 mins a night is good or equal? I'm not disputing the fact that Houston contract is not a good one, but considering what he would bring to this team, its not as bad as some might think. 14mill for 1 or 13 mill for 2 is the question.
