i don't think that the combination of yao, bosh, landry is more effective than that of yao, scola, landry in my opinion, if possible, i'd rather hope we will got d-wade,joe johnson or someguy else, at least a back-court player who can hold the ball and choose whether control the rest of game or not. if rox plan to give yao another big contract and build the team on the base of yao, chris bosh is bit extravagant, that may remind me of the combination of divac and chris webber, whatever, as a fans of t-mac, i hope he will come back perfectly.
please no. bosh isnt gonna get us anywhere so let's not waste money we cant spend on rupaul. we need a killer wing player that drives/shots the mid range/get to the foul line at a decent clip
yeah, i agree. whats with the hype on bosh? Scola and Landry are doing just fine! cheaper and a good value for what they're doing. if were looking for upgrades, lets address what we've been needing since last season. 1. a capable starting back up center (as Yao is clearly unreliable) 2. a go to guy shooting guard as ariza is better/more lethal as a 2nd/3rd option)
exactly...landry isn't going to play Sf because not only won't he have the speed to guard all SF, but he'll be further from the rim, with less space down low and therefore less effective...so you have to put him at pf behind bosh, and that's not going to be that much better than landry and scola, the big hole is still on the perimeter. We need a sg who can score AND handle the rock.
Whether McGrady walks or not, we cannot outright sign Bosh. We basically have 2 options: @ the deadline offer a package to Toronto that they can't refuse and pray he resigns here. The best we could probably do would be 4 of our cheap overacheiving guys. Battier/Scola/Lowry/Anderson probably works out best for us lineup wise. Toronto wouldnt be interested in an expiring (McGrady) because Bosh is an expiring. We would basically have to outbid a lot of other teams, but we may be able to get it done. or Try a sign and trade. It gets tricky here because I am not sure how the rules work, but I don't think alot of our current assets will be as valuable in the offseason. Im hoping, but not holding my breath.
He is not a franchise player. Sure he could help us but if we have to gut the team to get him - no thanks. Few nights ago I was watching Raptors against the Wizards and thought "When will people start to lay some blame for him for the crappy play of Raptors?" He doesn't have a great supporting cast but it's not like he is T-Mac in Orlando either.
and if we're going to let go of guys like scola and lowry and others to make room, i rather go after wade...
Completely agree. It is better compliment if your No. 1 (player we get) and No. 2 (Yao...on faith) are not both post players, because then their "touches" do not directly take away from the other player. Also, given how the rules allow for a superstar wing player to really take over the game driving to the basket, we should get a player who can AND will actually take advantage of that.

Well we have paired Yao with 2 explosive wings and we didnt get very far with either. I like the idea of "two towers" , one: because tall guys make our team defense better. I think we can all agree Yao isnt a great defender, but his defensive presence is huge. Having two guys out there would help even further. two: teams usually do not have 2 good post defenders, some don't even have one. Theres huge mismatch problems with two dominant post players. Both Yao and Bosh are great at drawing fouls which I know is something Morey values. While I agree Bosh isnt really a franchise player, he is definatley a piece you have to add if you can. He is really good at getting to the line, stays healthy, and is consistant. If we were so lucky to add him for say Lowry/Battier/Scola/Hayes (which is probably the best package we could offer) and then resign McGrady (a big IF) you have a team modeled very similar to the Lakers: Brooks McGrady Ariza Bosh Yao with Landry, Budinger and Andersen rounding out the 8 man rotation. Fisher Bryant Artest Gasol Bynum with Odom, Powell, Walton off the bench.
