I think Artest is just trying to be another controversial player like Rodman, he is even wearing Rodman's number this year: 91.
I enjoyed how, in the interview, he professed to not know what the word "integrity" meant, he had to ask the media.
lol. The guy had something like a 3-month vacation. He needs another? I think we can pretty much write Indiana off as a title contender. Their second most important player isn't paying any attention to what the team is trying to do.
did anyone know that he was making an album before this stunt? well, everyone knows now, and although he's probably to dumb to think this up on his own, what a uniquely self-serving marketing ploy. wow. (The Law of Karma In Buddhist teaching, the law of karma, says only this: `for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause was skillful or unskillful.' A skillful event is one that is not accompanied by craving, resistance or delusions; an unskillful event is one that is accompanied by any one of those things. (Events are not skillful in themselves, but are so called only in virtue of the mental events that occur with them.) Therefore, the law of Karma teaches that responsibility for unskillful actions is born by the person who commits them.) this better be one skilled rap album, or else.
I cant belive Artest is this selfish. I mean i knew he was a head case but selfish i had no idea... Im suppriesed Rick C. didnt suspend him?? He is still getting payed to sit on the bench and "think about this rapping carrier!!!" That is just plain sad. I would NEVER want him on my team, his trade value just dropped BIG time.
If the world was right: [Ron-Ron]: Uh, hey, Coach? I was hoping to talk to you. I'm going to maybe need to take a couple months off or something [Rick]: What the hell? What for? Did you stay in Colorado too? [Ron-Ron]: Nah, nah, it ain't like that. See, I've been killing myself what with my album and all, and, you know, I was thinking that if I took a couple months off to rest and get my body and head 100%, then I could come back ready to go for the stretch. [Rick] <blinks> [Ron-Ron] <scratches head and looks around> [Rick]: How long again? [Ron-Ron]: Like, 'til January maybe. Or mid-December. [Rick]: Sounds great. You're suspended without pay until January 2nd. Be sure to tell Larry on your way out. Evan
This is worse! There will always be guys like him if people are willing to put up with it. Teams are still willing to pay him millions to play the game. All people care about is what he can do for them. Integrity and professionalism be dammed!
The funniest part is that he doesn't even realize that his benching was a punishment. He figures Carlisle was trying to do him a favor. Finally, the Bulls can feel slightly less embarassed about trading him in the first place.
good way of promoting his new album I must say..... now everyone knows his album coming out on the 23rd November.....
Jesus, are you guys watching this latest ESPN interview where they caught him leaving the arena? He is all over the place. He was talking about basically that he's not crazy for doing what he wants to do. Then he talks about that he wanted to be with his family. Then he talked about retiring if he wins a championship.
I honestly think Budweiser could use those Artest quotes for the next <a href="http://leon.budweiser.com/" target="_blank">Leon commercial</a>.
As much as I'd love to write the Pacers off, I still feel quite confident that someone out there will be willing to take Artest on. I call it the Dennis Rodman syndrome. No matter what the downside or the inevitability of failure, someone will try it. So I can't write the Pacers off until I see who they can get for him.
