Currently he's shooting under 35% for the season...there's a huge difference between 35% and 40%.

If he can shoot 40%+ from the floor, the Rockets's offense would be much better.

    I don't think it's the offense that's Artest's problem...

I get the feeling he doesn't jump as high as he used to. Does anyone else who remembers him from the Pacers get that same vibe? I mean, it's understandable to lose a little hops as the years go by, but I dunno. Is Artest too big, too strong, and perhaps, too heavy now???

The open, spot up, shots, I have no problem with. But the shots where he's trying to create, drive, penetrate... all is terrific... but then the elevation isn't there.

Open Js? Here too. Often flat. Again... lack of elevation.

Not to say you can't shoot well w/o being a phenonemal jumper, but I do think Artest used to jump MUCH MUCH higher.

    Illusion???

I dont know if anyone else heard this but Morey said on 1560 the game this morning that Ron is playing on a bad ankle. Ron went to the coaches and told them that he felt he was hurting the team with the way he was playing. The staff feels that they way ron is playing right now is better then him not playing at all.

I think we need to give ron a chance to get healthy before we start calling for his head.

    That explains it.

    He ain't jumping b/c he's hurtin'.

    Makes 100% sense!!!!

Once the ankle heals, I'm willing to bet the FG% will rise too!!!!

    Mark my word!!!

Can somebody confirm this? Is he still hurting from the sprain he suffered in the Oklahoma game? Why didn't the Chronicle report this?

BTW, his FG% was off before his sprain in the Oklahoma game. But I could see his FG% continuing to suffer if he is indeed playing injured.

He's got a high ankle sprain that is lingering but it can't be that bad otherwise he wouldn't be playing. You can see him grimace on some plays so it is bothering him. Can't blame his poor shooting on the injury, he was shooting poorly before it happened.

he shot 50% from 3 point land against the clippers.
    he was 3/6.
does anybody think he should tone his offense a little bit
and become a spot up shooter until hes fully healthy again?
