I didn't think it was a lie, who makes up something like that? I thought it might have been embellished or something, but it seems that was just the facts.
Two other things to remember about Ron (out of many more, I'm sure): * He was the guy who broke MJ's rib when MJ was making his comeback with the Wiz. It was before the season started, in a pickup game, and it totally threw MJ's workout routine and messed up his comeback, according to many * I can't remember who it was, or which team, but Ron got into it with some guy from another squad and after the game he went out and waited by the other team's bus and like wouldn't let that bus leave or something for hours. Something like this. Someone has to help me out about this incident. Ron knows intensity, and he doesn't have to make stuff up. He's from one of the biggest and, I think, roughest projects in North America, Queensbridge. I'm not saying the above to glorify people fighting or tough backgrounds or whatever, just to point out that Ron wouldn't have to make stories up to talk about his tough times or any of the things he's seen or done. As we saw last night, Kobe doesn't want any part of him, and I wouldn't, either.
Just read the story. It is pretty sad that someone would die all because of the score of a basketball game. Very sad he was only 19. I have seen a lot of arguments due to people not agreeing what the score was but never death.
Rons from the hood....and anyone from the hood knows you gotta be tough to survive there....some of that bleeds onto the court. As long as it doesn't get outta hand its cool. In the end he was just letting Hobe know there wasn't gonna be too many more elbows to the neck.
While Ron has many stories, I'm sure, this one is more likely attributed to Chris Mills. http://lowposts.com/tag/chris-mills/
ron has told this story on several occasions, when I heard him tell the story before i thought he was making it up but when he told it again last night i assumed it was true i cant believe someone found the article though.. crazy crap man.. i guess thats how they roll in queensbridge
Yeah I remember seeing that. Chris Mills and Bonzi got into on the court and Mills waited outside to try to get him. Even said he had a gun.
Nobody said it was a joke like 'ha ha', I think a lot of people (myself included) just thought it was an exaggeration of a story.
What I found disturbing was how Kenny & Barkley laughed at Ron like he was crazy. I thought he was serious too at first and though I understand it's funny because Ron went on for 3 mins about it and it's a crazy story but they always make fun of him. Ron Artest is as serious as it gets Thanks for the link
Also another source is his brother...my gf is friends with him on facebook and he had his status as RIP so so. Ron Artest is straight RAW...I gained so much respect for him last night. All he was trying to do is defend himself...a simple foul call on Kobe and Artest would not have blown up.
Who exaggerates with someone getting "stabbed in the heart with a chair leg?" I don't see how anyone could possibly think he'd exaggerate on that.
Kenny knew it happened because Kenny sponsered Ron's AAU team which had Odom and Skip on it. He was laughing because all three guys from his team got in trouble on the same night. They also were laughing about how Ron kind of rambles when he tells stories.
