Geez Ron. Please! You don't know how to care for a dog or dogs. Let's hope you don't have kids!

Caring for a dog is not hard. I'm not sure what to think of Ron after reading all that crap. He loves dogs...just not enough to ensure they are taken care of and he claims to lack knowledge on raising dogs. Yet, he's grown up with pets around his whole life. Whatever, man. PETA must be desperate.

This really doesn't mean anything. This is mis-leading. Athletes usually have more than one place to live. Just because he has a home in Houston doesn't mean he won't leave. For example. Steve had a house in Houston, Maryland, and Washington D.C ( I think ). McGrady had a house in Florida and in Houston.
Artest can say all the nice things but it doesn't mean he is going to follow it.

Seriously, i'm glad you bring up defense, cuz i didnt want to make thread that seemed like bashing on Ron defense, but have you truly been happy with Ron defense this year. maybe i had really high expectation but he's not even top 3 in defense on our team. before the season i thought he would be the best defender on our team but i wa wrong. now maybe thats becasue injury or a bigger role on offense, but whatever it is , ron has just been above-average on defense.

battier, mutumbo, hayes, and even lowry are all better defenders than ron, imo. well let me rephrease that, they've all played overall better defense this year for the rockets.

Hopefully we can keep Ron. You have to take the good and the bad with him but I like the good, he brings toughness, we should post him up more though if we do re-sign him.

Are you saying we should turn into the Celtics then?? Yao plays the role in KG as the low post scorer. Artest plays the role of Pierce in the all around player. Then the lights out shooter you mention plays the role of Ray Allen. Is that what your talking about??.

Honestly if EVERYONE was healthy from the start we wouldn't be having any or most of these debates. I honestly believe we don't need a lights out shooter because the guys that we have on our team can already shoot. When McGrady, Artest, Battier, Brooks, and even Scola are on they are on. No lights out shooter is needed. Even if we have one who is to say he will even play or even be lights out for us. Look and Novak and Barry for examples. Novak barely played and Barry doesn't have his shot.

I'd love to keep Ron Artest.

But I hate the idea of spending anywhere near a max deal on him, similar to what was done for McGrady. Even if you pull McGrady's money off the roster.

I like Artest and want him to get a fair amount for his services to us but I'd rather not have the Rockets under another big contract and then when it comes time to resign Yao, Scola, Landry or go after another piece to the puzzle, we worry about the luxury cap.

If the Rockets don't get through the first round it would more than likely be Yao's fault.

As one of the few posters that has openly expressed his man love for Artest, I totally agree with you. Now if we can only get Rip or Joe Johnson in the next year or two, I will be in hog heaven.

Another player I wouldn't mind getting is Stephen Jackson. I know he is a knucklehead but he plays with an edge and has lots of heart.

I really like the idea of Ron being a Rocket for another season because he seems to fit really good and chemistry is really good obviously.

On the other hand I'd like to see one healthy season in Houston.

It boggles your mind if you think what would have Rockets did if they were healthy this year and past few seasons.

If the Rockets can manage to keep Ron for an attractive price, that would be ideal. This would leave room to package Tmac and Brooks/Lowry for a PG like Miller and an athletic f/sg like Joe Johnson. 3-way trade anyone?

Artest and Captain Jack again?! Lets get Reggie to come out of retirement and trade Mac for Jermaine O'neal while we're at it too. I love me some Jack but this would never happen.

I know. I just like Jack for some reason. However, his contract is fairly cheap and I don't see GS getting rid of him unless they go into full rebuilding mode.

Come on Doc you this is the BBS...

People around here have more mood swings than "Sybil" as soon as Ron does his Dominque's impression of the (human Black HOLE) when they play the Lakers, the board will be talking about not re-signing him...

    Ron Ron is a keeper.

We haven't had a player who plays w/ a chip on his shoulder since Maxwell.

He'll protect Yao at all costs & will not back down when it comes to a challenge.

Keep Ron Ron even if it comes w/ a price tag of about 11-13 Mill a year.
