yao, when healthy, is worth the max for sure. but i'd not be so quick to offer him his next contract this summer after what happened, unlike what morey did twice already earlier in the season.

I agree that Ron is a better leader than Yao or Tmac.. I just wish he would accept a lesser role on offense for the betterment of the team.. IF he did, I have no problem giving him 8-10 million a year..

Just promise that you lead with toughness and defense.. and lead the ball-handling to Brooks.

    3 years $ 24 mil. Add a 4th, as a team option.

Sure even when Yao is not healthy he is worth the max due to his big market. Fine with that. Ron is one of the leaders in this team and something like MLE offer would be ridiculous and an insult to Ron. Does he contribute less than half of what Yao does?

Wow. And if the credit card company raises your limit to $20K, I bet you rack up that much in charges next month. Because hey, you earned it, and what could possibly go wrong?

Re-signing Artest to an overpriced contract with his Bird rights does, in fact, hurt our flexibility in the future. A lot.

just as what I discussed with my housemate, I said that in my opinion ron deserves to obtain a contract not beyond 800 million per year. My friend said that he seems to deserve to have one with 1200M per year when he plays in good shape, however, he also seems to sign a contract with 800 per year when he plays like what he performed in last 4 playoffs games. so overall he thinks ron should have a contract with 1000 per year. my tolerance is 800M per year

While some others want to sign Yao for 8/9 mil, and give Ron 9 or 10 mil.

    That's just what fans do.

To me, I want to sign Ron for sure, but it's best to limit the term to 3 years. This is an over-paid league, you have to pay to get quality. Veteran players with any value will cost you around 8 million/year. Maybe the economic downturn can cool the market down a little bit. But I am afraid we will have to pay Ron 7/8 million to keep him.

On the other hand, Battier with 6.5 million, brings a lot more to the team than lots of 8/9 million guys out there.

In Taiwan, they use WAN as 10,000.. so if they wanted to say US$1,000,000, they'd refer to that as 100M..

so when he says 800M, he's trying to say 8M

DD, I'm calling you out. Who would you get with that money? Artest is soooo worth it, especially seeing what the market can offer with that cash.

Personally, I think this team wouldn't be the same without Ron.

I think Ron Artest is worth it.

I'd love to have Ron back... we need his defensive ability against players like LeBron James and Andre Iguodala to name a few... He can find his new role (possibly off the bench again) when Tracy comes back... I wouldn't pay him more than 6 or 7 million though.. Max of 3 years. Do it Morey!

I would rather get a more efficient player who plays within the offfense.....

Artest is DECLINING......I thought the trade was fine but now that the season is over, the team needs to get better.

Ron is NOT going to get better, he will get worse.

Give me a guy who can shoot 45% at the wing position to combine with Battier and watch how much better this team will be.
