Miller's a bad contract, but I doubt Phil Jackson would have any interest in an immobile, defensively inept center with an attitude problem. But, maybe he would... the Zen Master has accepted the challenge of taming The Worm, TruWarier, and Matt Barnes.
Yep, hes basically Yao Ming 2.0, only not as good. Also, he doesn't generate as much buzz or money as Yao does. I can't believe people in this town are STILL willing to gamble on injury-prone big men.
Gasol's untouchable. He's one of the premier big men in the NBA, and the #2 guy for the back-to-back champs. Kupchak would laugh at Morey for even inquiring.
I'm not so sure. I do think they could get more for Gasol, but then could not move Artest out (which at this point I think they want to pretty badly). They get a PG that has burned them several times in the past, a solid PF, and a smart SF that Kobe would LOVE to play with. I don't think it's as lopsided as you think.
That's a championship team right there Bynum Scola Battier Bryant Brooks/Fisher I think Lakers would do it. And we'll have Gasol Patrick Bud Martin Lowry Interesting line up but I don't think an upgrade, so I'll pass.
I'm not necessarily saying the trade is lopsided, I just don't think LA would part ways with Gasol under any circumstances. He's far too valuable to the franchise, as he and Kobe are the key cogs in the Jackson's machine.
Can you imagine a recovering headcase constantly surrounded by the fakers and stars of lala land. It's better this way; it's kinda like saying.. "..you can't fire me, I quit."
With the way we've been playing lately, why not? He made watching the Rockets unpredictable. It was awesome having him on our side.
i kinda be aight we dat eventhou his declining, when he left we lost d toughness dat he brings to a team n i wont be surprise if he will be rejuvinated
I like Ron. I like his attitude and how he doesn't take any crap on the court. A lot of our toughness left with him and Landry.
I agree with your comment about firing up some of the guys on the team; that was similar to a comment I made a week or so ago on a thread about Carl Landry, too. Last season we had Landry and also Brooks who really brought some energy to the whole team when they were on the floor; not just their play but the whole team would seem to get electrified when they were working their magic. This year we still have Brooks, but a greatly altered one; while a good bit of the roster is similar to last year's, the energy and feel of the team seems quite different, to my eyes at least. Almost sluggish, maybe? Now, is Ron Ron the one to add that zip? Not sure if he is, but I'd sure like to see someone come in with that kind of energy and authority.
If you want a strong defensive wing stopper with so-so role player-type offense, instead of paying 7 million a year to a 31 year old, just draft Chris Singleton. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Chris-Singleton-1342/
I am absolutely shocked at the number of people who favor trading for Artest. He's crazy, terrible at basketball, and highly paid in a fairly lengthy contract. I'm truly searching for positives...
Because two losing seasons, without even a high draft pick to show for it, is causing some fans to double down on the stupid, and it would be monumentally stupid to bring back Artest, especially with the contract he has.
