I LOL'd...we all know artest enjoys the attention and will do just about anything to stay in the spotlight. He tries to get under players skin to make them play bad, basketball has alot to do with mental toughness.

although I love that he threw bynum on the ground, I just wish he would foul more often like that when needed to.

we have too many players who do soft fouls and next thing you know the shooter goes to the line for just one ft. bs, if your gonna stop them, then dammit stop them.

I think Hayes and Landry will be our no bs players but thats not saying much :(

if that charge and bynum foul is the best I've seen in a while (inc when Artest was here) then meh.

For some players, a little extra curricular activity and conflict gets their juices going and they feed off that. Kobe is like that. I don't think Artest is that kind of guy. After he had that run in with Bryant, he had a really bad series.

Now Ron knows how it feels to play against the tough, scrappy team he help create.

Before the game everyone kept showing the stat where Ariza was averaging 21 PPG and Artest was averaging 11 PPG.

    Mystery solved.

Personally I think Ron is hurt we didn't sign him. I think he misses us. I read on Realgm that Rockets were his first choice. I do remember reading about how angry he was that the rockets messed up his Bird Rights but I don't remember him saying he wanted to stay in houston.

Artest Believes Losing Bird Rights Cost Him $20 Million

I'm happy we are under his skin.

I'm happy the massage is out that we are Mini Boston in the West.

No one can push us around.

Pure attention w**** crap. I could give a good God-damn what Artest says- he's somebody else's problem. Of course, the media will eat it up as they do all things LA Lakers. Here's the sidebar headline on ESPN from last night: "Kobe's 41 downs Rockets." How about, "Lakers need 41 from Kobe to barely get by injury-depleted Rockets"? It's hysterical not only how the media is biased, but that they are that way because many of us consumers want it that way. Ooh, how much did Kobe score? Ooh, the Evil Empire! Oh, Romo and Williams are having a conflict? Wow, Brett vs. the Vikings. They serve it on a plate and we eat it up rather than skipping the meal.

I tell you what, I'm as guilty as the next person about this at times, but it sure is nice to watch a team not knowing who's going to be the "Man" every night and observing great team basketball.

Sounds like he's just trying to perpetuate a tough guy image. It's the same spiel that he used last year when he was on the Rockets..."I'm a tough crazy guy, but I'm more mature now, so I'm not going to beat you up. But I'll beat you up if you mess with me." He seems like the type of guy who wants everyone to like him and think he's all about the team, but deep down he's just a narcissist bordering on being a sociopath.

And here I thought the ref over-reacted in warning Artest and Ariza to stop talking when their faces were less than an inch away while both teams waited for the ball to be inbounded.

Ron got his feelings hurt last night when the crowd booed him. He started the game over-physical like trying to prove something ... he should have known better after last year that they were going to give it back.

Nobody in their right mind (which Artest is not) would actually blurt this out in public. What a complete moron. I hope this little douchebag gets into a huge fight and faces a lifetime ban.

    Toughness = Battier.
Fake Toughness with Whining mixed in = Artest.

Cut the guy some slack. He's an idiot for saying it, but can we really blame him for thinking it? He feels betrayed by the Rockets, and will obviously have ill will towards the younger, more athletic replacement. It doesn't take a psychotherapist to sift through that much...
