I just pray the third player is not Scola. The guy fast became my favourite Rocket last year.

What's the status of Artest's contract with the Kings? Will he become a free agent after the next year?

Can't since it's definitive that Kenny Thomas isn't in the deal. It's either Luther, Brooks, (not likely) Hayes, or Brooks.

7 million; expiring. We have his bird rights so we can go over the cap to resign him.

The trade must be including Donte. That's why the trade can't be announced until Aug 14th, and he must be the player to be named later. As much as I'd hate to give him up for a completely unpredictable nutjob like Artest, I guess you got to make this deal. You'd be weighing the likelihood that Donte pans out in a big way versus Artest keeps his head on straight for a little while. And at least on the court Artest has proven himself to be a force on both ends of the ball. I don't see Greene having that kind of potential even if he does pan out.

Can't be Battier. Salaries don't match. It has to be a 1-2mil contract. Donte Greene makes the most sense.

It's most likely Greene I would guess, since most trades are based upon trading a proven vet for a young prospect.

If it is Donte Greene, I'm a little dissapointed becasue he will be a very good player. However that is just me looking long term. As for right now, I'm freaking estatic. Since we have Brent Barry it might even be Aaron Brooks which, was suggested earlier.

Either was we have Ron Artest, a run away train. However, look at who is now driving the train...Rick Adelman.

    Is not Shane.

Ron is on 8'4M. Bobby 6M. The max I see Morey offering is Scola, but I don't think it. I think Bobby+Greene+Novak... Or Luther Head, he could be very possible.

God I hope nothing goes wrong between now and August 14. Seems like an awfully long time until it can really be officially "consummated".

I always said we needed Vernon Maxwell crazy type to keep this team and our opponents on edge. No one is going to mess with us with psycho Ron on the court.
