Man, I have to say this Rockets team right now, excluding any further additions we may add in the near future, is THE BEST ROCKETS TEAM OF THE PAST DECADE. It makes me drool when I see an extremely talented and deep lineup that we have right now, all credit to Morey's geniusoty and shrewd dealings. I love Rockets, and everything about the Rockets, esp our awesome GM, coach, and of course, players. PG: Alston SG: McGrady SF: Battier PF: Artest C: Yao 6th Man: Luis Scola 7th Man: Brent Barry No.8: Steve Francis No.9: Carl Landry No.10: Aaron Brooks No.11: Luther Head No.12: Dikembe Mutombo Chuck Hayes Mike Harris Joey Dorsey WOW, that is one AWESOME lineup. Now imagine if Francis returns to his former best... Now imagine if Scola and Landry continues to improve... Now imagine Artest playing on his contract year... Now imagine Yao continuing to improve his productivity each year... Now imagine Brooks being the 2nd year stud Rondo was... NOW IMAGINE A CHAMPIONSHIP, ACTUALLY, WE ARE SEEING THE CHAMPIONSHIP RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES...
personally i like the aggression he has. its what we lacked, passion for the game.. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jBx8LSwqRpE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jBx8LSwqRpE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
People, I just wanted to say one of the biggest reasons I love Artest is his passion and heart for the game and his team. I don't really like those players who don't speak what they actually think, whereas in Artest, we have someone who is very outspoken, is not afraid to put his mouth where is heart is, and criticise others when he feels its necessary to do so. For example I loved the determined and passionate rigor he played when he had that "unstable" period against the Jazz. It showed that he was willing to take on his opponent with no sign of weakness or lack of strength, either physically or mentally. This trade, simply put, is the greatest personnel move by the Rockets since the Tracy McGrady trade in the summer of 04. I can't even sleep or think calmly these couple of days, with all the excitement and hype surrounding this legendary Rockets team... Since when did we have an intimidator? since when did we have an enforcer?? Can you just imagine this defensive lineup? We can just score 25 points and we'd win the game. PG - Tracy McGrady - Great defender when he puts up the effort SG - Ron Artest - Former DOPY - Top 5 Defender in NBA SF - Shane Battier - 3rd in DOPY rankings - Top 5 Defender in NBA PF - Chuck Hayes - previous 2nd team and currently 3rd All-NBA Defensive Team C - Dikembe Mutombo - 4-Time DOPY WOW, I AM STUNNED...
This trade did so much for our team it is amazing. Our defense is improved, our offense is improved, our toughness is improved, our depth is improved. We still have a long term back up plan in place in case things dont work out and basically it cost us 2 second round picks ( well essentially our expiring is still intact) No lie, the potential for this team is astounding. Scola, Francis, Artest, Barry, Landry, Dorsey can bring so much more to this team than last year it is sickening. What I mean by this is: Scola/Landry are only going to get better and learn how to be more effecient in the system...Francis was once an outstanding talent and if he makes any sort of contribution to this team, even if just a spark off the bench, its more than we got from him last year and will only make us better. You know what Barry is gonna do...come in play 10-15 minutes and shoot wide open threes all day long and be a super effecient scorer. How about the big JD? Name me one man in the league who is gonna overpower him as a defensive big. WE ARE JUST PLAIN STACKED. How can you double Yao? How can you double T-mac? What team if any in the entire league will match up well against us? Tell me any holes in our roster. The one weakness I can forsee is depth at the five, but I still think Dorsey can be that guy. If everything falls into place, ie health, commitment, chemistry, proper coaching, etc. this team is perfectly capable of taking 65+ wins and challenging our own win streak record. Last years team was great. I loved every minute of it. I legitimatley thought they were contenders last year with Yao/T-mac. This year...well lets just say I have never had such high expectations or been more excited for an upcoming season than I am right now. This team is straight up scary. Sure the Lakers are a great team on paper, but in reality they have no depth. Luke Walton? pssh. We have the defenders now to shut down Kobe, Gasol, etc. Jazz? laff, we took them to six with TWO LESS ALLSTARS suited up. How about those Hornets? Last I checked we crushed them last year just by being healthy. Spurs? Heck even thier own players are jumping ship. Not only will I expect a competitive game everynight we step onto the floor, but I envision blow out after blow out. God I love this sport, and this team. Go Rockets
i hope the trade will not cancel i think the lineup wil be like this PG Rafer Alston/Steve Francis/Aaron Brooks SG Tracy McGrady/Ron Artest/Luther Head/Steve Francis SF Ron Artest/Shane Battier/Tracy McGrady/Mike Harris/Steve Novak PF Luis Scola/Carl Landry/Chuck Hayes/Mike Harris/Joey Dorsey/Steve Novak C Yao Ming/Luis Scola/Dikembe Mutombo/Carl Landry/Joey Dorsey
Another welcome aboard. Good to see posters from other teams and we look forward to your contributions. I have to agree with your earlier post that Artest is not crazy, he is just not very bright. Like he says himself, he is ghetto, not going to change, and is proud of it. Luckily for us, he is basketball smart and just what the doctor ordered. Winning has a way of curing a lot of potential chemistry problems; and we will be winning a lot next year. He'll be fine.
Well, I was on the fence before - I like the good things that Artest can bring to the team, but fear the "crazyness" he has in buckets-full. But I hadn't realized that he also came with one very important quality - HE HATES THE JAZZ and they hate him. That alone is worth almost any risk!! Welcome aboard Ron Ron. In other news, starting to get a little worried about all the high praise and preseason rankings, etc. I'm seeing since the announced trade. Seems like we're getting set up again (as we do every offseason) just to have something happen... I like it so much better when we fly under the radar. Oh well. Can't do anything about it. Happy thoughts! Happy thoughts!!
now if we could get rasheed wallace, rox would be the most exciting team in the nba history!! imagine sheed and artest in the same team!
NOW THATS WHAT IM TALMBOUT!!!!! Carl Landry had a tooth knocked out by Boozer nobody said or did ish! RON ARTEST IS THE TRUTH!!!! You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about it at parties you want RON on that wall, you need RON on that wall!
I keep seeing a general fear about the possibilities of the trade being canceled between now and August 14th but I'm guessing there has to be some semi-binding agreement in place? Preventing the Kings from backing down if they feel like they didn't get enough or another team swooping in and offering a little more? Morey seems like too smart of a man to lead a deal like this through the dark.
