No other players especially those guys or their celtics team were more deserving of the past championship... it didnt hurt to have tom thibedeau either... However, the relentless 15-17 Rockets had a lead in the 4th quarter and made it real tough for the 27-3 "NBA Champs" at the garden that Jan 2nd night earlier this year... http://www.nba.com/games/20080102/HOUBOS/recap.html About the celtics: "Five other teams have lost just three of their first 30 games, including the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls who finished the season with an NBA-record 72 wins." "Quite a turnaround for a team that missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons." Rockets forward Shane Battier, pausing to smile, "let's just say you are more concerned coming in this building now. They have a three-headed monster -- (Ray) Allen, Garnett and Pierce. What a difference a year makes.'' Yao had a bad shooting night...but what's REMARKABLE is that we were playing that game without T-Mac, Landry, Franchise, Harris, Barry, Novak, Deke and drum roll please...... Duh Duh Duh TA.... yours truly Ron Ron... p.s. kudos to Bonzi that night because he played one of the his best games of the year... I couldn't agree more with Battier's statement... we are certainly more concerned about going into boston... concerned about whether or not we should EAT them for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner
Anyone else afraid that Battier and Artest will get bored after so easily shutting down the other team's best player and start shutting down each other on the offensive end?
And he can play multiple positions and defend multiple positions, he gives us an incredible amount of flexibility with lineups. He can flat shut people down defensively like only a handful of people in the league can really do. He's just really one of the unique talents in basketball that has a side of toughness/crazy that the Rockets have needed for a while. I can't wait to see it all on the floor.
All of the premier perimeter players are going to *hate* playing us should we keep Batman. You have Battier AND Artest hounding you all night? Ugh.
Thanks. I made that video before the series started. And since I'm on the board tonight, here's something I posted in the Post a pic in every post thread. And oldie, but a goodie. My friend showed me Nike's new campaign, it was my quick attempt at making my own. I think it works well. Not Artest related, but it's Rockets related.
I completely agree, this is a very good trade for both parties involved, they get under the Lux tax and get basically 2 number 1 picks, and the Rockets get a talented RISKY player in the last year of his contract, and clear up an overcrowded roster a bit. DD
