This is from espn comments on the "Trade" Espn Comment just don't see this as THAT big of an upgrade for the Rockets. It definitely makes them more interesting, but a championship contender? Doesn't Artest bring to the team the same things Battier does? And don't they play the same position?Artest is a better scorer for sure, but I dont see him adding a ton of victories for the Rockets. I think he would have had a much larger impact if he were traded to L.A. or some other destination. My Response... Such a good trade for Houston The Battier argument is valid but Artest is a much more aggresive OFFENSIVE player and will make teams have to split time between Yao, Tmac and Artest. Battier just doesnt demand the attention in that role like Artest even though on D i'd acctually rather have Battier. can you imagine Yao, Tmac, Artest & Battier? teams wont be able to score on us period, add in one of our small point gaurds and its a dangerous combo on both ends of the floor.
