HAHAHAHAHA OMG!!!! WATCH OUT LAKERS!!!! NEW SHERRIFF IN TOWN!!! MOREY THE WIZ!!!! *lebron stopper incoming*
I could not believe it either. Had to double check, too. Artest without giving up anything now. The ultimate go for it now strategy. Time for the aging stars who traipse around looking for a championship to come aboard. Any aging point guards or centers around. Welcome back Motumbo.
Wow. I was not expecting to get off work and read THIS. I was just thinking about boring the summer is for basketball news. So stoked.
There is NO way on this planet a multi-dimensional player like Artest is Battier's backup. Artest plays nearly as good team D, superior man to man D, runs the floor, can post up and take his man off the dribble...Artest will NOT backup Battier.
Weren't the Lakers trying to acquire Artest for Lamar Odom? It's kind of nice that we were able to mess up those plans.
ahhhhhhhh, so this is why there are 1,300 comrades viewing the garm. =) To be honest, I don't know if I like this trade.....How are we going to replace Bobby J's 3 point fade aways from 30 feet?
Rafer + TMac + Artest + Scola + Yao = Championship!!! On top of that we will have Battier, Landry, Brooks coming off the bench. Awesome!!!
I have always say this team needs another big 2/3. I couldnt believe Morey gets Artest. The biggest impact of Ron is not on defense or offense. Now, coach Adelman can actually cut down T-Mac's playtime and let T-Mac finishes games strong. The rotations of 2/3/4 are crazy. The Rockets can go big or small without losing a beat. The PG may not be a problem for the Rockets too because both Ron or Barry can bring the ball upcourt and initiate the offense. I cant wait for the start of the season.
When told of the deal, McGrady was ecstatic. "I couldn't be more happy," McGrady said, according to KRIV. "Pleased at how the organization is trying to improve this team, get the help that Yao and myself really need to really get to where we want to be and that's one of the elite teams in this league. "If this is true, this is definitely what I have been waiting on for 11 years in my career, for a team to really improve and put the talent [on the floor] that I feel that we can compete with the best." Injuries held Artest to only 57 games last season, but he averaged 20.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game for the 38-44 Kings. Sacramento traded point guard Mike Bibby during the season last year and dealing Artest shows that the team is in full rebuilding mode under second-year coach Reggie Theus. "He brings a mental and physical toughness" McGrady said, according to KRIV. "He brings a guy that competes at a high level on the basketball court. Defensively, he's tough. Offensively, he is a force to be reckoned with. He's probably one of the most difficult guys to guard on the perimeter because of his size, because of his strength." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3510261
Kings' Star Artest Traded to Rockets Bobby Jackson, Left, Ron Artest FOX 26 News Related Items Links More Houston Sports News HOUSTON -- The agent for Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest confirms his client has been traded to the Houston Rockets. "Yes, it has been tentatively agreed upon," Mark Stevens, Artest's agent, said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. "Now it has to be confirmed by the league office and until that is done it's not official. Artest played for Rockets head coach Rick Adelman in Sacramento when Adelman was the Kings head coach and Stevens said that relationship helped make this deal possible. "Ron has a great relationship with Rick Adelman," Stevens said. "He never wanted to leave Sacramento, but because of business he has to. "Ron is grateful Adelman wants him to play for him again. It's a wish come true." League sources confirm the Rockets are sending guard Bobby Jackson, rookie guard Donte Green, a number one draft pick in 2009, and cash to the Kings along with another, yet unidentified player. If other players are moving from the Kings to the Rockets they have not been identified either. The trade cannot become official until Aug. 14, one month after the Rockets signed Green, according to NBA rules. Rockets guard Tracy McGrady is thrilled at the news. One great thing is we are bringing back the same team we had last year, which looked pretty good even after Yao was done for the season. Now we've added Artest and Barry. IF, and that's a big if (believe me, I don't want it to happen), Artest turns out to be a bust, we STILL HAVE BATTIER. Keeping Battier and getting Artest is a stroke of GM genius.
