Yeah, I wouldn't trade him, Yao or Tmac for Artest. I am not that high on Greene. So it is good it is him, than Landry or Battier.
Um, you might want to read some tinman threads for a history lesson HOLY CRAP!!!!!! I pray this is true.
Starters: Alston McGrady Artest Scola Yao Bench: Battier Landry Barry Brooks Francis Hayes Dorsey Does anyone have more talent then us? If we resign Landry, is there any team in the league that has a deeper and better bench? What if Francis really came back and joined the rotation and was effective? Man this team could be one of the all team greats on paper!
First off, I'm shocked. This is seriously something unexpected and while I was pretty high on Donte Greene's potential and how he seemed like a nice kid, I still think that the "100% win now" mode has hit full effect. Donte Greene was probably going to be part of the young core we develop after 2010 hit, but I guess Daryl is very confident that we can do extremely well now with this trade or he thinks he can draft diamonds in the future drafts-- both concepts which I don't doubt. Secondly, I don't think our lineup is going to look like some mentioned, it seems like Battier will be coming off the bench because I don't see how we can bring Artest off the bench without him being a bit antsy. Then again, he would prove to be an efficient off the bench scorer/go-to guy, which is also nice to have. If this is just a minor trade, I'm both excited and fearful what Morey has planned for later. This blew my mind and if Artest can stay sane and produce, a healthy Rockets team is now the team to watch out for. Goodness. I love the Rockets.
I'd be hesitant to celebrate too though. The trade can't be official until August 14th. That's almost 3 weeks for something to go wrong. That's 3 weeks for a better deal to come on the Kings table. That's my only speculation why ESPN hasn't put it up on their site. It's not official as far as paperwork goes.
Time to get the Ron Artest YouTubes rolling in. With who we played in the playoffs, this is fitting: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jBx8LSwqRpE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jBx8LSwqRpE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Also the lack of sticky by Clutch or any confirmation from denniscd or any Rocket insider is kind of disheartening.
I just hope the Rockets are smarter now than the 90's. After winning a few championships, and I mean a few (how can we not), I hope we don't become a retirement home for aging-great players. I know Green wouldn't be much help in the short term, and if we play as expected and win as expected, our draft positioning will only be worst in the next few years (none next year). I just hope we follow the example of the Spurs and not the Heat.... Other than that, all I can say is Thank You Morey and Les... Look out Richmond Ave. It's gonna be party time in Houston again!
Now to complete the leebigez team construction, we trade Alston and a 2, for tim thomas. Why? Bid farewell to landry, get a floor spacing, off the dribble, mobile 4. Brooks starts and a guy like Barry backs up the pg for about 15 mins.
Jonathan Feigen on 97.5 RIGHT NOW to talk about the trade Donte Green is rumored to be the player to be named STill GREAT TRADE
This is amazing. Rockets are getting Artest for virtually nothing. Wow! Battier can go to the bench and be more effective coming off of it and playing less minutes. Defense just got better and so did the offense. I love his intensity, passion, emotion, heart, fire, and the fact that he doesn't back down from anybody. And he's not afraid to kick some ass. This team needs somebody like him. Let's make sure that he's signed to an extension. Also, let's now work on resigning Landry and get that upgrade at the PG position too. The Tru Warrier is coming to H-Town! I can finally change my signature as well! Hurry and put some money down on the Rockets to go all the way this upcoming season before oddsmakers change the odds. In the meantime, here's some links of Artest doing his thing: http://www.ronartest.com/ <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/r3xsuFZRV1M&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/r3xsuFZRV1M&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> The Utah Jazz will never try to punk the Rockets again...No layups <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jBx8LSwqRpE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jBx8LSwqRpE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
