One, you better be kidding. If not then, two: are you f'ing serious? Van Gundy does not know how to develop anyone. Van Gundy dealt with the Bonzi situation really well (sarcasm, just in case). We HAD a legitimate third scorer. If we Bonzi, we would have had some energy coming off the bench (maybe) - but who did we use? The same players...What about Novak? What about Span? Give people a chance to play, and then see what happens. Don't just assume they suck. The only guy I can think of right away who can deal with players that are crazy is Phil Jackson...and that is even questionable since no one really knows if MJ or Phil handled Dennis "The Menace" Rodman. These days it makes no difference. Phil has been unable to handle Smush or Kwame...so I take it back. Sorry, there is no reason to support Van Gundy. Three times to the 1st round and three times out. He has to be held responsible. Sorry if I sound like an ass...
Artest is a headcase, who is always demanding more shots. Then again, if it means rafer shoots less, I'm all for it. On the other hand, he's too much of a chemistry killer.
Doesn't Adleman have a history coaching Artest, Isaiah Rider, Rasheed Wallace, Bonzi Wells, and Cato? I'd love to see Bibby with Artest but how do we send Sac value for Bibby and keep T-Mac as well? Who would we package for Bibby? I aggree that "Having Artest (with Adleman) would bring Bonzi back " because Artest was highly distraught at the prospect of losing Bonzi this past offseason and wanted to personally recruit him to stay in Sac. I like the proposed lineup (above) and don't understand how anyone could think that a lineup with Rafer as the starter could get this team deep in the playoffs. I'd sign Bibby even if it meant T-Mac in a blockbuster deal because of the uncertainty of Mac's back, and I would rather ship a questionable T-Mac (back problems) than Battier, although I'd prefer, obviously not to. Please tell me what it would take to get Bibby and Artest without trading Battier which would be a huge mistake. I'd take Bibby, Artest and draft picks for T-Mac now before we take the chance of McGrady's back going out and decreasing his trade value. His back was healthy after he got that treatment from the specialist but he was streaky with his J and through up a lot of ill advised junk and low percentage shots against Utah. Think of all the games (with the exception of when he started out hot) that T-Mac's shooting percentage was woeful, only to get hot late in the game. His J wasn't fluid all throughout many games even if his low shooting percentage didn't show up on the final scorecard. I love T-Mac's heart and his game but with the back, maybe it's time to address the PG with Bibby and use Novak more and add shooters who are a dime a dozen (those with the ability to create their own shots being the exception). I'm assuming a deal is presumed to work shipping Head, JHo, Sura and JL3 for Bibby is what you might have in mind? I'd try to grab one of Sac's bigs if it took some draft picks to throw in a deal for Bibby (a 2nd rounder) but in any event the Maloof brothers aren't gonna just blow up the team (Sac) without receiving at least one player close to all-star value. Remember, now Sac has to compete with the OAK market wise with the Warriors buzz circulating around the bay area as well.
In a heat beat. I like Battier but Artest is a better all round player and Bibby is clearly a lot than Head.
sac will not give this guy away. why would they? stupid to think we could get him for jho and some other scrubs.. what are u stupid?
Artest could go to the Warriors. Man they would be nightmare to deal with if Artest goes there. http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30392
He is a violent, reckless psycho, and as much as I want to win, I don't think I want to win at the cost of having him on our team.
Ya but can you imagine? Stephen Jackson/Dunleavy/Artest/Biedrins/Elis/Davis/Barnes dang that is a high scoring team. Artest would add toughness and defense. All they really need is a great big man like...Oden.
I love how these guys that have never done an ounce of research in there life come on and condem the entire thread. Idiot yes that is you. Sac-to will not only give him away they will gift wrap him too because they are tired of his headcase. If you would like to say that we should not want him because he is crazy you are entitled to your opinion, but to say Sac-to does no want to get rid of him at all cost is trying to convince me the sky is not blue. The Sac-town Bee reports that getting rid of him is not only a priority but the priority.
Ya bring him here. We'll hook him up with Paul Wall and Tony Dang! Man he will be stylin with all the bling bling that those dudes will hook him up with. Then they can tie him into the local rap scene. He can play and rap at the same time LOL.
Sac will give Artest away! Why?? They are SOOOO fed up with his off court antics and missed games due to suspensions! For that reason, his market value is low. We could get him for JoH, Sura and Snyder- no 1st pound pick. Now the 64K question-Do we really want to?
Ya cause Adelman can work with the dude. Artest respects him. If Adelman could have a team with Bonzi and Artest and make it work then why not?
I'll give you that if we hire Adelman and get Artest, Bonzi will want to come back. Now let's say that Ron puts his past behind him & Bonzi is in shape. We then have TMac(6-8) & Bonzi(6-5) at the 2 and Artest(6-7) & Battier(6-8) at the 3. Someone will have to come off the bench. Will Bonzi and Artest be willing to do that(I'm assuming Battier would). Or could we run these 4 in a rotation through the 2,3 & 4 spots. Bottom line is can Artest & Bonzi get their heads on straight for Adelman. If so, the possibilities are endless. I just don't like the track record.
If we picked up Artest, it would probably cost us Battier. However, if not, Artest is strong enough to play PF at times. The Battier PF experiment failed, but Artest is aggressive enough to pull it off.
