In the words of Gregory House. "Artest, you're an idiot." I think I have Ron figured out finally. He suffers from a lack of self awareness. He doesn't know when he is shooting well or shooting poorly. He doesn't know if he can take one guy off the dribble and another in the post. He doesn't know what he is good at and bad at. He just isn't able to look at himself and admit that he can't rebound against Shaq, or stop Roy from going around him, or shoot 3s off the dribble with a hand in his face. Apparently, no one can tell him either. If we accomplish one thing in these playoffs, it is figuring Ron out. At least Rockets fans know him now.
this was not a disparaging remark. Roy is a tougher matchup for him in the Portland offensive scheme. This has been obvious to a few of us already if you read other threads.
Even though Batum has not been on Artest much dont underestimate him. He's the best defensive player on this blazer team. We always put him on the other teams best swingman/forward. He's not playing much this series because we need offense and he provides little to none at this point in his career.
Sadly I agree with this statement. Ron has given Lebron a lot of trouble in the past...Kobe got the better of Ron his last game, but in the past Ron has more than held his own v. Kobe. Roy is destroying Ron...destroying. It's almost a sure 2 pts. for Roy when Ron is guarding him...you can see that Roy has no fear of Artest as he's owned him this whole series.
I believe Ron said Lebron was the new impoved version of him... which is a little more accurate, yet still delusional.
Ron said Roy was better than Kobe. He didn't say that Roy was a tougher matchup for him. I don't think Ron understands the difference.
Ron did say that Lebron was a new and improved version of him, but that's completely different from : "Ron Artest is also the same person who thinks he is the newer and improved lebron james "
Ron needs to understand that Kobe owned his *** last time and mostly through his career. Kobe likes to prove points. I mean Kobe said he wanted to play the Blazers just to prove a point. He wants to play the Celts just to prove a point. So if we beat Portland, Kobe is going to hear this and say to himself..."Alright then..." Not like it would matter, we don't have much of a shot any ways.
ron said that lebron was the newer improved version of himself (ron) big difference in what you quoted.
Also Sager is always trying to stir up something and if he asked this question of T-mac, imagine what he would say. At least Artest complemented the competition.
It doesnt matter what WE think or whether ron was joking, all that matters is Kobe takes all this crap seriously...
don't you see the strategy? he's talking up Roy, so Roy has all this pressure on him for being better than Kobe. Great move Ron!
