This is a no brainer ARIZA of course! We got a steal! Artest carries wayyyy tooo much baggage and is a cancer just like T-Slack. Those two guys have major egos and thats not who the Rockets are and should put up with.

Those are all qualities of a selfish player like T-Mac. Maybe on another team but not the Rockets

    Ariza.

I would say Artest if Yao was healthy. Given the current situation of the team, the younger and less egomaniac Ariza is a much better choice.

Ariza more wanted than Artest. WHAT?!!? Artest! Why did you have to leave?!!? WHY??????????? We're definetly going to the lottery. We'll never win it all without Artest. I don't care anymore. OK. Let's trade for some cap space.

Our winning days are done. :(

this is tricky. I wanted Ron back if Yao could play, but now that Yao's situation is not looking good, Ariza would be good if we are going for the young guns.

Ron was a ball stopper. He refused to runs plays after timeouts. He got torched by Brandon roy in the portland series. His defense is overrated and only backup by past years reputation. He would have got lit up by kobe if we elected him to defend kobe. Battier was clearly the superior defender adn playmaker, leader etc.. in the la series.

He only woke up during the portland series when rick called him out after game 5 and said we need soem scoring from Ron.

He's going ruin the chemistry for the lakers. He only signed there because of the glamour and lights of hollywood. He will be a ball stopper in the triangle offense regardless of how u think kobe ain't going for this and that.

How many times did we see terrible turnovers from ron, unecessarry dribbling, failing to pass the ball to the open man, forcing off balanced three pointers.

Can't teach a old dog new tricks and a leapord doesn't change his spots.

If I am creating my own team, I'll take Ron before Ariza.

But for this team, and the situation we have with Yao and Tracy being out. I'm taking Ariza to aid in the rebuilding process.

Ron Artest pissed me off last season. Before he played for us I had a real respect for him. Now I think Ron's an overrated player on the decline. His D is good but hiss offense is garbage. He shot us out of a lot of games last year and at times he would just kill team chemistry.

Finally the Cancer is gone. I know most people were really high on Artest, but I always thought he was a burden. It showed at the begiining of last year when he was coming off the bench. His game was garbage and didn't mesh with the team. Defense way overrated!

I feel sorry for the people who bought artest jersey´s...

I knew this was going to happen, concerning the poll, Ariza worked very well in the Laker´s system...will the same happen here in Houston? If the answer is yes, than I rather have Ariza...

At least the constant 3 point chucking will end.

no question, i prefer ariza. we're not trying to win now. ron is passing his prime and must win soon.

works out best for both teams and both players IMO.

Maybe Artest will help make the Lakers more beatable by disrupting the Lakers.

Have you seen how Kobe gets in Pau's face/grabbing his head, etc... You think he can do that to Artest? His teammates would lose respect for him if he shows that he's afraid of Ron. BUT if Kobe does, Ron might knock him out!

Neither. And I say this as a fan of both players.

Ron had no purpose on this team now that Rockets have no star players whom he could play behind.

Ariza does not solve any of our immediate problems. We are still very limited when it comes to players who can create offense What makes it worse is that Ariza has been overpaid.

    Horrendous offseason.

Ariza, slightly. He is the more efficient player on offense and Artest is falling off defensively. Ariza needs to continue to work on his shot. I would have preferred Artest and still having MLE.

Noticed players that used to play important roles with the Lakers success later became scrubs on different teams? Only Caron Butler I can think of made an impact after being traded but you know the Wizards suck year after year. The Lakers triangle offense allowed the players to flourish but once they moved on and played on different teams, their weakness in their games was exposed. This most likely will happen to Ariza.

the thing is ariza is much younger, plays d and shoots more efficiently than ron, but ron brings grit, strength a la hayes but he's got game on both sides of the court. hard to say, but if we're moving forward, ariza, if we are trying to win a championship next year, then ron.
