    Keep Battier and Alston.

Alston is a good point guard and defender. He has improved his offense a little.

Battier is just awesome. Someone who can speak and be a leader.

There isnt much of an improvement for pg out there than what we currently have so no.

I think that Alston did (and will continue to) do well for us last year. The problems seem to come when he has no one to back him up - he pulls too many minutes and starts getting sloppy/missing shots. If we had someone reliable to back up Rafe than I think he'd be a lot more effective. The question is - is AB far enough along to fill that backup role reliably?

for everybody who's dogging rafer, just keep in mind that if he were in all 6 games of the playoffs against jazz we we would be in the 2nd round without even getting to six games, his heart and leadership is hard to find, he's all we need

You never know till you throw him into the fire. And although summer league is far from being the best indication, it does seem as though Aaron is looking to develope his playmaking game, so that's a good sign there.

The key thing for him will be if he makes his mismatch on the offensive end count enough to hide his defensive shortcomings, which will always be there due to his size.

If he doesn't pan out, we still have Brent Barry to take some heat off Rafer anyway.

I would really like it if Pargo came and signed with the Rockets, then Luther Head would probably be waived.

Ha. I agree that we could have won with him playing.

His heart and leadership are all we need? This has to be a joke.

The only reason why I wouldn't mind trading him for someone better is because the way he just kept shooting for no reason, I was a huge rafer supporter last year and I thought he would start Over Francis and James. and I was right i also thought he was under-utlized with JVG, but he was a chucker last year, I'm known as tmacyaokobe01

IT's only incredible because he never drives in and he never passes it to the guy inside, Similar to Jose Calderon, but Calderon actually makes much better plays.

    keep battier.
who cares about the starting lineup.
think of our lineup in the fourth quarter when we need a stop.

    PG - Brent Barry
    SG- T-mac
    SF- Artest
    PF- battier
    C - Yao.

    ridiculous.

and on the other hand, think if artest and dorsey would be on the 2nd unit.
BASH BROTHERS! we'll definitely bring the pain.
Toyota Center = NEW HOUSE OF PAIN!

I`m sure Mac and Yao both love playing with Rafer, although some of the people here don`t like him. Yao and Mac are always talking about chemistry, i think Rafer and definitely Battier is included in that conversation.

although getting a player like Fisher who is a seasoned veteran, knows how to win and wins, and also hits his perimeter shots would be nice, hopefully Barry can carry the load and i think he will.

Chicago's not stupid....not that stupid at least(Wallace signing).

Two defensive stoppers are good for the team, they'll give the heavyweights like Dirk, Kobe, Melo, and Ginobili a different look every so often.

    Say no to Allen Iverson.

This is a defensive team, why would we get rid of our best on the ball defender? Just imagine when we play Utah or New Orleans, we could basically run a full court trap on Williams or Paul for half the game and get away with it, as long as Yao is guarding the front of the rim.

The scoring punch that he brings is great but the addition of Artest makes us the number one defense by default. I can't wait to see the two of them on the court together.

I'm guessing the Jerry's up in Chicago do not want to pay 10 mill for a backup pg(Kirk Hinrich). I wonder if Battier and Francis or Head could get a deal done?

Because Artest can only play some minutes as a 4. He uses his strength to post up but his low post footwork is limited. Luis should start there IMO.

Ben Gordon doesn't start. Hinrich splits his time between the 2 & 3 anyway. He'll just start there now.
