The Warier needs more discipline and control imposed by Rick the Ruler. The Warier should muscle his way to the hoop, not dribble the clock and make soft jumpers. We certainly know the Warier has balls, but he definitely needs more brain. Nice assists and defense though.
To be honest, I didn't realize he was shooting bad till I looked at the box score at the end of the game. It's one thing to take jump shot 5 seconds into the possession or ISO the possession away, but I didn't really see that from Ron tonight. He usually didn't go 1 on 1 till our first option was taken away, most of his play tonight was well within the offense.
we are going to get beat so bad the next round... we have to depend on the shooting and decision making of ron artest and von wafer ???
5-20 was so skewed. On some possessions, he took 2-3 shots base on getting the ball back from a miss or block shot. So just padding his bad fg% stat. He took only 3 bad shots from what I remember. A 3 near the bottom diagonal area, than a jumpshot at top of the key late in the game. He made that one, than next possession, he took another unbalanced shot. However for the most part, he tried to take in the paint and played within the game.
but sometimes its all you need. this is the Robert Horry situation over again. People want him to be Scottie Pippen, but being Robert Horry was just fine (see championships).
Ron may shoot bad from the field but we're still winning. Its because he brings toughness to our team and brings fear to the eyes of the opponent which we lack this past few years because we were known as a laid back team. War Tru Warier!!!
If Artest's brains were as big as his balls, he would be a $20 mil player instead of the $8 mil he currently is. Artest is a great defender, good spot up shooter, and good post player. He is not a baller, driver, or first option.
LOL so would I. I am just reminding people not to make Artest more than he is. He is a second or third offensive option and a great perimeter who will make at least a couple of bonehead decisions a game, no more no less!
no way we beat the lakers with ron bricking 5 for 20.... unless he can make kobe shoot 5 for 20, which we all know his DPOY form is way past him.
Thats why we have shane....I know and everybody on the board knows that if shane plays his best defense, he can hold Kobe to about 15 points...Now, I am not sure what will happen after that 1st quarter..

I saw that a lot in various games. Rick Adelman has been getting on Brooks to get the Rockets in their offense quicker, but he continues to dribble and dribble the shot clock out and then lots of times passes the ball to Ron in order to bail him out with barely any time left. Even Battier said the same thing in the Chronicle, that sometimes they try to get Artest to bail them out with not much time left on the shot clock.
Artest isnt the only that doesnt get the ball to Yao when he is open. Everyone seems to do it at some point. I dont think Artest took that many terrible shots compared to what he normally does. I didnt even realize he shot the ball 20 times. Everyone keeps saying that one of these days his crazy shooting is going to cause us to lose a game, yet we keep winning. Let me know when his shot selection actually loses us a game. This is what happens when the rest of the team keeps tossing the basketball around like a hot potato.
Before some of you noobs look ay the boxscore please watch the game because so many of Artest's shots were in the paint and he was aggressive with the ball, it was because he kept getting pounded my two 7 footers that he had his shot blocked or he missed
