I think this is a good idea, but I don't think Morey wants to trade Rafer away.

for people who are complaining, you do realize adelman tried yao at the high post for MONTHS before realizing that plan is just stupid and absurd right?

adelman has been trying for a while now forcing his stars to adjust to his system. that's just not the right way to go about it.

either go tell morey to get different players if he really loves his system, or trade tracy/ron.

thank god he listened to yao and moved him back to the low post more often or else he would have been fired.

BTW, why don't just trade Artest for hinrich?

might be another option but i don't think rafer would be that useful as a backup pg on this team.

I really think it's time to move Ron and/or Tracy. Maybe to a lesser extent Ron but I'm done giving Tracy chances when he just continually disappoints and refuses to accept Adelman's coaching. We looks great without them and if we got one or two players that could really fit into this system we could be great.

Maybe I'm drawing conclusions to early but I have a feeling Tracy is going to keeping being a ball stopper on the offensive end.

I would do that trade but unfortunately the salaries don't match up. Chicago paid both of them way to much.

Artest was shooting so many threes b/c it was the least painful way of playing. He was in obvious pain, but he wanted to continue playing b/c he is a warrior.

I would NOT trade Artest. If anything, I would keep him just for his defense. Just tell him to concentrate on defense and let the offense come to him. No one on this Rockets team is playing defense. Our defense have dropped off dramatically compared to the past. We are letting scrub teams score 100+ points. Battier is a shell of his former self and he can hardly buy a basket. I would keep Artest over Battier. He gives us that toughness we need. Without him we are back to the same old soft team that has done nothing in the playoffs.

No Artest, Another First Round Exit.

And good luck getting another team to give up a good point guard. Those are hard to come buy, and most teams are not willing to give up a good floor general.

i used hoopshype.com's numbers and they where within the 125% + 100k rule.

now i've checked it with espn's trade machine and it seems that the bulls would send about 70k too much salary.

there would be ways to make it work, though, if both sides would think it's a good deal. the rockets for example could just add joey dorsey and it would work.

if brooks was more consistent and artest at 100% and fitting in better i wouldn't do it, either. unfortunately brooks is very inconsistent and artest isn't fitting in that great and his ankle keeps on bothering him.

I'm all for it but I think we would hit luxury tax threshold. If there was a way to do Rafer, Artest, Dorsey, and Head for Hinrich, Nocioni, and maybe they might even throw in a 1st rounder I would do it without hesitation.

I think this whole thing is b.s. anyway.

I don't fall for that crap with Ron "limping" around like he did.

He was stinking up the place and put on a bit of an act. Maybe not entirely, but enough.

I was pissed at Adelman for keeping him out there but I half-wondered if it was a test to see what Ron Ron wanted to do. Didn't take him long to show how badly he doesn't want to be here.

Which is fine. Sit him until near the trade deadline and make that deal. We should get someone decent in return.

Doesn't solve the problem of Tslack, but one poison pill at a time.

I'm glad you brought that up because I was thinking the exact same thing. And we should have no problem throwing Head in with Artest and getting someone decent for those two expiring contracts.

I predict with Artest out and a Return to T-Mac and Yao along with increasing minutes for Wafer the chemistry will come back and this team will really gel. Then, because of that Artest will be a lock to be traded...

he says he's healthy. now he's out? well this isn't the most credible source, so we'll see how true it is. for arguments sake lets assume so... the timing would be very ironic.

I think the problem w/ Artest is his contract situation...he's always trying to pad up his stats and try to carry the team by himself...he can't up his value that's why he always keep on trying whenever he can play...

The best way to pad stats is to be traded to a bottom feeder...like Sacramento. Or if he can go to another contender and up his reputation and value during the playoffs...like Houston.

I can't tell what the hell is going on with this guy anymore.

This strikes me as contrived and phony. Something is afoul in the Artest situation besides injury. I thought he was practicing? He had an extended time to test himself? If he wasn't ready for game action, why did he come back?
