It'll be stupid to trade him.....we have 0% chance of advancing past the 1st round with Yao and T-Mac, you can book that!
OR Ron's ankle is hurt and he's taking this opportunity, while Yao and McGrady are on the court, to get 100% healthy
Which would be very smart. Because his 10 3 pt attempts will not help this team. As I said, we can win against anybody even without Ron, we would need him in the playoffs. But still, he has to play before those playoffs to just find his role.
What if it's a real injury? Artest is such a beast. If he does get traded, it'll hurt. Ever since Sura and Francis (1st run), our team were always soft. One thing that I don't want to see is Artest being traded for garbage.
why is it that our huge off season aquisition never pans out.. first it was Stromile Swift.. EVERYONE on this board including me was so excited about that.. we thought he was going to turn the corner and be that PF that can rebound and slam it back it with amazing atheltic talent.. then it was Battier who was suppose to be that 3rd guy and the glue guy to complete for a championship.. turns out he is just a role player.. and then there was Steve Francis ... and now Artest....i know he has been injured. but even early on in the year he just looked horrible in the offense..
I don't believe in excuses (what if this guy played.....what if that guy played...) Artest gives us insurance that any of our stars go down that we still have 2/3 of our stars and can still seriously compete in a playoff series.
Wow if this is true, which i doubt, then I wouldn't be surprised. There is a pattern here and its obvious. When one comes in one goes out. Mac came back and Yao went out. Yao comes back and Artest goes out. It never freaking ends!!!!!!!!!
with the way his injury has gone this year, that ankle is not gonna heal fully. so it's really not an insurance.
I think with the injury he has now.....it'll be nothing and he would be playing if it were the playoffs.
if that's the case, SAY IT OUT. the potential for artest is good if he plays with the 2nd unit (his best stretch of games was off the bench). he hasn't been a good starter. i still think artest can be valuable but we're not using him right. and his injury hurts too.
I agree. He needs to be used more as our post up option on the second unit. Hopefully the Rockets can get it to work out, but if not I have faith in a McGrady-Battier-Wafer-Barry wing rotation.
I wouldn't be surprised either. That said, until the chronicle or another major site confirms this "blog" report I'm not buying it. He also mentioned last night as "rough" on his ankle but that it wasn't the issue with his poor shooting night. Why would Artest call a national blog writer before the local papers got wind of this news? Not to mention ESPN doesn't have the information either.
Thats WHY you trade him for someone else that WILL! He's valuable, so he can bring in another valuable in his place. Rockets wont lose much of anything if they get the right piece(s)
Not to mention he screws up the entire team. He plays... Tmac sulks and then rafe sulks. He says he is hurt and then tmac sulks and is hurt. This is a good idea sit him and hopefully trade him. We dont need him the way he is playing, and no he will never change.
