Thanks Ron for all you brought to this team and being a big part of getting to the second round. It was a lot of fun having you on this team. Good luck in LA...

You could have been a god here Ron, but .... enjoy LA, that's all I got now that you're no longer a Rocket.

WTF is wrong with you people? This guy turns his back on our team and we thank him? Yet a guy like Francis who turned down offers to better his career to be loyal to us gets hated on? Give me a break...

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Bull***** Artest...

that's what happens when you come here for a year, you help the team out, and your reward is a freaking one year contract worth nothing basically.

**** him. He left us for money. He could have signed with us for the minimum for a year, then got some extra money after that. He left for some dough.

Did you REALLY want him back though? I mean he was awesome at times and also a Game-killer at times. I'm 50-50 really on bringing him back. Don't think it's that big of a loss at all. Wish him good luck though, but I don't see him meshing w/ Kobe that well.

? he took a pay cut to go to LA to make 6 mill for the next 3 years..........he just played for a year being underpaid to get more dough, and your'e asking him to do it again? and next year, you'll be saying the same thing, this isnt a video game, you cant just get players to agree to 1 year contracts.

It was pretty clear that this team didn't want him back after offering him a one year deal. Teams do that as a nice way of saying - DO NOT WANT! Hope Ron enjoys playing second fiddle to Kobe and when Kobe tries to slap his head around like he did to Gasol during the playoffs Ron knocks Kobe's head through his anus.

you think artest cares about being 2nd fiddle? he was 3rd fiddle when tmac and yao were around........the fact that he stupidly took a 3 year 18 million dollar deal goes to show he's got the right mind set.

teams that win dont care about who's taking the shots, and this laker team, pencil them in for 65+ wins and another title.

I'm sure that he doesn't care playing second fiddle, I was just stating that he was. And i'm pretty sure the guy is semi r****ded so they can circle jerk at the Staples Center all season long for all I care, I just think its funny that Morey only offered a one year deal and everyone is wondering why. The guy is a damn r****d and the front office knows it.

Artest was a one year rental. He did what he was brought here for. He was brought in to play behind Tracy and Yao and go deep in the playoffs. He accomplished that despite the Rockets being shorthanded. He also kept his off-court drama in check.

Rockets are headed in a different direction and it its best interest of both Artest and the team to part ways. No hard feelings.

    But Lakers? Bleh...

"Rookie poster is Ron Artest's team selection...kind of spotty"

How do you know what would have happened after this season? We dind't have the money for Artest and a back-up center. SO maybe Morey was going to offer him a much bigger contract when T-Mac's big contract came off the books giving us more room to get him?

If Artest didn't leave for money, he left us to get a Championship. He saw Yao was down and he didn't want to realy help us. He was looking for himself again.
